All across the UK the sun is shining. Sunglasses and flip flops have been dug out of the wardrobe and everyone wants to barbeque in the sunshine. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend is just around the corner and everyone is getting in the mood for the summer.  However, many people haven’t yet made plans for the bank holiday weekend. So how about getting away to a holiday cottage?

Next weekend marks the beginning of two bank holidays, meaning that many people will enjoy an extra day off, in addition to the usual bank holiday. A four day weekend in June! Horary! Plus with great deals on last minute bookings for self catering cottages, there couldn’t be a better time to book a UK holiday.

Get away for a romantic break for two to give each other the time you deserve or alternatively book a large cottage and bring along the kids and your friends for a really British break! What could be more British than all clubbing together to enjoy a spread of lovely sandwiches and homemade cakes followed by a glass of something cold to toast the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.

Sykes Cottages have properties all across the UK and Ireland so there is sure to be a cottage to suit you and your family. Maybe you fancy a taking in the fells and lakes and fancy a walking holiday in the Lake District. Spend the evening rewarding yourself for your hard work with a delicious pub meal in the evening or cook up a storm in your own self catering kitchen. Don’t forget to call by at Sarah Nelson’s gingerbread shop in Grasmere for delicious gingerbread baked daily on the premises.

Perhaps a trip to the good old British seaside is more your thing? A costal cottage could be the perfect option from which to enjoy walks along the beach followed by fish and chips whilst watching the waves.

Whatever your plans, a Sykes Holiday Cottage is sure to make your Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend, a weekend to remember! Let’s all cross our fingers that this beautiful weather holds!
