fish and chips in yorkshire

A trip to Yorkshire isn’t complete without sampling a hearty portion of Fish & Chips. Despite Lancashire leading the way for the total number of chip shops, the White Rose County is arguably the top catch when it comes to the quality of its chippies. The 2017 National Fish & Chip Awards (NFCA17) further reinforced this claim with 13 chip shops in Yorkshire making the final shortlist.

If there’s one thing that unites us all, it is the love for a proper chippy tea, so without further ado here are some of best chip shops in Yorkshire that we would like to recommend.

1. The Fishermans Wife

The Fishermans Wife opened their first fish and chip shop in 1960, which was located in Halton. However, just three years later they opened their Whitby restaurant due to the fact all of the fish came from the beautiful seaside town. If you want to enjoy the very best fish and chips in Whitby, with some spectacular sea views then this is the place to go.
