The Easter Holidays are just around the corner, and if the weather is anything like it was last year, you will want to be outside enjoying the sunshine! There are so many events being held across the country for Easter that there is sure to be one perfectly suited to you and your family. The kids will have nothing but fun at all of the special events planned for the Easter Bank holiday, and are sure to get their fill of chocolaty treats along the way!
Williams Easter Egg Hunt: On Easter Sunday head to the Lake District and celebrate the 242nd birthday of William Wordsworth at this National Trust site. Learn some Easter traditions from Wordsworth’s day and have the kids take part in the egg hunt where they will maybe win a Cadbury’s Easter egg as a prize!
Family Fun Trail at Carlisle Castle: Crack the clues and follow the trail to collect a tasty treat at the end! Standing in the middle of Carlisle in the Lake District, Carlisle Castle is always a great place to visit and will only be more fun for the kids over Easter weekend when they are challenged by the fun trail.
Cadbury Easter Egg Trails: For the fifth year in a row Cadbury have teamed up with the National Trust and National Trust Scotland to hold great Easter events all over the country. There will be traditional activities and games held at over 250 venues around the Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Visit the Easter Egg Trail website for all the details.
Hever Castle and Gardens: Bring the whole family to this historic castle from April 6-9 to take part in their popular Easter egg hunt lead by Henrietta the Hen! You’ll get to explore the grounds and gardens of beautiful Hever castle and the kids will be rewarded with chocolate reward at the end! Other events taking place over the weekend include hen keeping advice, flower viewing, and brass bands.
Golden Egg Hunt at Bristol Zoo: Over the Easter weekend there will be ten golden eggs hidden around Bristol Zoo just waiting to be discovered! Hunt around the zoo for these very specials eggs and you will be rewarded with a treat at the end, whether you find the Golden Egg or not. The zoo mascot, Larry the Lemur, will also be on hand looking to meet and greet as many of his little friends as possible.
Easter Fun at Cardiff Castle: Fancy decorating your very own Easter bonnet? Head over to Cardiff Castle on Thursday the 5th of April at 11am to take part in their Easter Bonnet Workshop, which was a sell-out event last year! You can wear your fancy hat when you return to the castle on Saturday to take part in the Easter Fun Day, which will be filled with Easter themed games and a fun egg decorating workshop.
