Finding Accommodation for the Commonwealth Games

There’s no doubt that when a big event comes to town, hotel rooms sell out quickly!  Enter Sykes Cottages and our fantastic selection of self-catering accommodation within easy reach of Scotland’s second city.  Self-catering is a great option if you’ve got your heart set on tickets for the Games; early start? No problem!  Swap getting ready for dinner for relaxing in your pyjamas as you relive the day’s events!  Choosing one of our cottages located further away from Glasgow’s city centre also means you can enjoy far more space than you would have in a hotel and explore everything else the country has to offer.

Explore Scotland

Once you’ve been inspired by the wealth of sporting talent in Glasgow, you’ll be pleased you’ve chosen a holiday in Scotland.  An outdoor lovers’ paradise makes it the perfect place to put that enthusiasm into practice with a fantastic array of sports on offer.  From cycling to watersports and the traditional highland games (held at various locations throughout the summer), Scotland is the perfect place for an active break.  Scotland isn’t just about the great outdoors though, there’s plenty more to see once you’ve crossed Hadrian’s Wall.  Check out the Royal Military Tattoo which takes place in neighbouring Edinburgh in early August, venture to the Moray Firth to see bottlenose dolphins or sample the taste of Scotland on the Malt Whisky Trail.
