Our Berwick-upon-Tweed Travel Guide includes… Places to stay, things to do and how to get to Berwick-upon-Tweed

Berwick-upon-Tweed is England’s northernmost town, just shy of the Scottish border.

Berwick was a much-loved destination of artist LS Lowry, who would spend his free time here. A number of LS Lowry paintings are depictions of the town, either its quaint buildings and cobbled roads, or impressive seascapes. Follow the six-mile Lowry Trail, weaving around the market town and stopping at 18 sites which the artist had painted.

Browse the number of small independent shops in Berwick, while a farmers’ market is held regularly in the town centre. Discover high-quality local produce, clothing, jewellery, arts and crafts and more.

Berwick-upon-Tweed walks and cycle routes display sublime scenery of the astounding coastline, as well as the stunning River Tweed. Choose from a range of Berwick-upon-Tweed beaches, popular for both kite-flying and fishing. Spittal Beach is a firm favourite, featuring a stunning promenade ideal for taking in the coastal views.

This Berwick-upon-Tweed Travel Guide will help to set you up in the right way for your getaway.
