  • "Lovely place to stay."

Hosts nothing was too much trouble for them. Beautiful and relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful week.

  • "Great property and site - not sure the advert actually does it justice."

The owners were lovely and welcoming. The property is spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. With better weather we could have made more use of the pool and outside kitchen - we did our best but it gives us a reason to come back. Dartmoor and the surrounding area is incredible - this was a fantastic holiday

  • "The accommodation, grounds and facilities were very nice."

The owners had made an effort to make us feel welcome, leaving a bottle of drink and a homemade cake ( which was lovely). Toasting marshmallows over an open fire, was a fun evening for us all. Very peaceful place, to relax and recharge your batteries. The only issue we had was little or no phone signal (Tesco mobile), but it did not spoil our stay. We enjoyed our stay in this part of Devon, which has lots of attractions, within a reasonable drive.

  • "The owners made us feel so welcome (even though our day didn’t start off the best) the little touches that you have provided such as the bottle of prosecco, the home made cake and other touches that are too much to list on an email are very nice and totally unexpected."

These little touches go a long way especially in the current crazy time we are living. I know we are only coming to the end of the 1st day i can honestly say that we would definitely considering rebooking at some point again and even recommending this venue to friends and family

  • "We have had an excellent holiday here at Old Stable Cottage, our hosts were exceptional nothing was to much trouble, they have been very accommodating."

The facilities here are excellent, our children loved the pool and doing BBQ in the evening using the fire pit. The cottage is in a great location to explore Devon and Cornwall. We keep returning to the west country as it's such a beautiful place to be. I Would definitely recommend this cottage and everything that it has to offer, I hope to return in the future.

  • "What a smart, beautiful and homely cottage!"

We were blown away with the standard of Old stable cottage. Really well equipped and spacious with really comfortable beds. Lisle & Lloyd were friendly and welcoming and they had left us a yummy lemon drizzle cake and Prosecco! Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that great so only used the swimming pool & jacuzzi once but it was great fun! Lisle & Lloyd had obviously gone to massive efforts with the decorations and appearance inside the cottage as it was so well presented inside & outside. Thank you again for a lovely week.

  • "The stay exceeded our expectations- it is so spacious and well equipped."

The grounds are beautiful and the swimming pool was an added bonus. We made camp fires in the woods, had bbqs in the garden, went for strolls in the meadow- brilliant to get outdoors. The cottage itself is much bigger than expected and so welcoming. Only draw back is that we were expecting one king sized bed - this would make a real difference to sleep quality for our tall family member. This is only a small comment though definitely 10/10 accommodation. Thanks for having us.

  • "The cottage was lovely, well equipped, a beautiful rural location."

The kids loved the pool and sauna set up(although pool was very chilly). The owners were friendly, helpful and obliging. My only criticism is that you advertise the cottage as having one King size bed which it doesn't, the are all doubles. We would never usually book somewhere that doesn't have at least a queen size bed as my husband and I do not really fit in a double. So we didn't sleep brilliantly.

  • "When I booked this holiday accommodation it was on the understanding it offered a king-size and 2 doubles."

There was no king-size...all rooms were doubles. My husband is 6'4" tall and he could not fit lengthwise comfortably in the bed. (all beds had a frame at the bottom so feet could not overhang!) I do not understand how this can have happened....does it mean I have to check every booking with you in future to make sure that a king-size room actually has a king-size bed in it?? If you look back at my choices over the years, you will see there is always one king-size room required....2 if we're accompanied by my daughter and son-in-law for the same reason. Please can you change the information on your website so no-one else is affected by this.

The pool is cold but fun and the camp kitchen is amazing! Lloyd and Lisle are both very welcoming and helpful. We hope to be back!!

  • "Lisle and Lloyd were very warm and welcoming and clearly working hard to create a relaxing and idyllic place for their guests."

The cottage was spacious and relaxing with a lovely book stock for all ages. The grounds were peaceful and the children loved exploring the wooded area and stream. Due to COVID, Lisle and Lloyd has gone the extra mile with opening the pool facilities by creating a rota to enable them to clean between each groups visit. It was very welcomed and the children said it made the holiday “the best ever!”
