Sure , the stairs get a bit of getting used to, just a unique quirk of cottage. Lindsey thoughtfully provide bedding for Ian to sleep on bed settee as he preferred. Joyce happy to have King size bed for herself! Both of us slept so well. Rico enjoyed the beach. Overall an enjoyable stay

I love this cottage. Quirky! Perfect for my new dog. She loves the freedom of the garden. Two minutes from the beach. Thoughtful welcome package which includes Prosecco. Now that's a nice touch. Even got a birthday card. It takes time getting used to the funny sloping floor upstairs. I love it. I think I may have done my 4th or 5th visit. I've lost count. Everything close by like the village, cafes, The Victory Pub, The Potatoe Shack, gift shops, Naze Tower and seal watching available. The beautiful backwater Naze walks are stunning. I love this place so much I got married here and the Little Thatch is my 'honeymoon cottage'.

  • "What a lovely cosy little cottage, ideal for 2 and our pet dog Misty."

All amenities that you need and very clean throughout. We are 66 years old and found the staircase a little awkward but nothing you wouldn’t expect from a little thatched cottage. We are only around 5’6 and we’re fine with the low and sloping ceilings , it may be an interesting challenge if you are a bit taller. A nice short walk into town one way or to the fabulous Naze in the opposite direction. With the beach around 200 yards away up an alley to the side of cottage Misty was in her element. Lyndsey was a fabulous host and nothing was too much trouble. Her communication was first class. We had a problem with the electrics one evening around 8pm, by 10pm all was fixed. Thanks again Lyndsey for the generous welcome pack and we would love to stay at Little Thatch again in the future. Les & Jan

She even asked us what type of milk we would like for our tea! Lo and behold a bottle of it was there when we arrived. The property is in a very handy accesible place (good if you don't have a car - we don't) and all amenities are nearby. As stated in the write up, beware if you are tall as the ceilings are quite low, handy for me as I am only 5ft 1". Also the staircase is quite steep and narrow - but what do you expect from an old thatched cottage! Lovely though and I would recommend it.

Breakfast at the Potatoe shack, lunch at the Victory pub, drinks and scampi at the Bath house. What's not to love? Fabulous beach and fresh hot doughnuts. If you go to any cottage, go here. The path beside the house takes you there in a few minutes. The cottage is very well equipped, really cosy and there is lots of character and charm. A worn down step. Beams. Wonky walls, ceilings and floors. Exactly what you’d expect from a grade 2 listed building. I loved staying here and was sad to leave. The owner is very kind, leaving food gifts/drink. And telephoned to let us know that the cottage was ready for our arrival. It has a lovely enclosed garden which we all enjoyed (Misty the beagle too) as we were so lucky with the weather. A nice large shower and comfortable bed. As the beach is so close my husband and I walked to it at night to look up at the stars with little light pollution. Just wonderful!
