Location: Beaumaris

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait. With its medieval castle dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course is nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay. Its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered and provides safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links with Dublin. This is a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales.

Previous visitors' comments about Ffordd Deg Ddu:

It was beautiful. The views from the cottage were panoramic and there was peace and quiet. We would just like to thank the friendly owners who were there 24/7 if we needed them.
Mr Williams, Leek, September 2011

The cottage was equipped to a very high standard although next to a working farm there was no noise from the farm. The cottage has spectacular views of Snowdonia mountain range. Very peaceful and relaxing area to stay, not far to travel to larger towns like Bangor or Conway if you want to.
Mrs Browne, Wigston, June 2011

The views surrounding the cottage were amazing! The location, Llanddona, was beautiful and the cottage was very homely.
Mr Brothers, Blackburn, June 2011

The central position of the cottage, the friendliness, warm welcome and help we received from the owners over the week. I would certainly return there again with no hesitation, Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Mrs Morgan, Llanelli, May 2011
