Location: Red Wharf Bay

Beaumaris 3 miles.

Along the north-east coast of Anglesey is a very large (4.5 miles long) bay called Red Wharf Bay. Its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered and provides safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. The large bay attracts a huge number of waterfowl and wading birds, including shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers and dunlin. Only 3 miles away is the delightful medieval town of Beaumaris which boasts a 13th century moated castle, lovely buildings housing excellent shops, "olde worlde" pubs, restaurants, bistros, museums, as well as a golf course and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing trips. This is a beautiful location on the east coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey.

Previous visitors' comments about Hen Felin Isaf:

I thought the photos didn't actually do justice to the cottages. They are in a fabulous location and if you like a walking or birdwatching holiday in the off peak months it is fabulous here and I will be recommending it!
Ms Barlow, Cirencester, January 2012

Close proximity to the beach and quiet surroundings.
Mrs Payne, Conwy, September 2011

Lovely cosy cottage, with exceptionally beautiful views. The owner was very helpful and went out of his way to make our stay as perfect as it could be. We have already booked for next year.
Mrs Brocklehurst, Macclesfield, September 2011

What a wonderful location and just a stones throw from the beach. The cottage owners who live next door could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
