Caernarfon (county town of Gwynedd) has much historic and cultural importance in North Wales. It is a popular tourist spot with its impressive 13th Century castle, well preserved town walls and delightful water front. During the season there are guided tours of the castle and special events including historic pageants. There is also a station for the Welsh Highland Railway, which passes through dramatic scenery, and fishing trips are available from the harbour. Another attraction within walking distance of the town centre is Segontium, a Roman fort and museum, housing many important finds. Caernarfon offers a wide selection of shops and places to eat and is close to the lovely beaches of the Isle of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula as well as the mountains and rivers of Snowdonia, including the renowned mountaineering town of Llanberis at the foot of Mount Snowdon.

This Caernarfon cottage offers exposed beams throughout, with two bedrooms, a cosy lounge/dining room with underfloor heating, and a conservatory that overlooks a quarter of an acre of gardens and woodland to the front of the property. Located on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, with fantastic access to the surrounding countryside and the peaks of Snowdonia, this Caernarfon cottage is in an ideal position to explore North Wales, Anglesey or the Llyn Peninsula, with its miles of sandy beaches, coastal paths and beautiful scenery. There are a number of excellent golf courses in the area surrounding this Caernarfon cottage, Llyn Padarn fishing lake is less than 1 mile away, and Betws-y-Coed is within 20 minutes’ drive. This is a superb Caernarfon cottage for a relaxing family holiday, whatever the time of year.

The property has a beautiful and very private garden. It has good access to main road and is in a great location for seeing North Wales. The owners were very nice and welcoming. There is a great activity centre 10 minutes away in Llanberis. I really enjoyed kayaking with my family - well worth a try! Will definitely go back to Fron Goed, it was so clean and homely.
