Well equipped and everything you needed was there. However the freezer was dirty and we felt a bit cold early mornings and evenings. It would be helpful to have a curtain in the window opposite the downstairs bathroom as we felt a bit exposed!! Otherwise we had a lovely stay!! Thanks for the wine and Eccles cakes.

  • "Lovely place with a lovely view, my only disappointment was I didn't get a single good night's sleep in any of the beds, I know mattresses and pillows are personal preference I just found it very uncomfortable."

I would also like to see some local artwork on the walls like an enlarged photo of Penmon lighthouse, Beaumaris Castle, the bridges, the beaches etc maybe a tourist map of the island too. Lounge is open plan with the kitchen which works well, and the kitchen is well stocked with items, maybe a coffee machine would be a nice touch. Bedrooms are of decent size, properly could fit king size beds. Upstairs double has a good on suite, downstairs bathroom has both shower and bath - shower head holder coming away from the wall. Location is brilliant for trips into Beaumaris, about 8 minutes. Owners are lovely and friendly too. Like I said my only gripe is the beds but if that doesn't bother you I'd highly recommend

We cannot fault the accommodation, local environment of the farm and location in terms of access to the island. We are a family of five and the accommodation was lovely and spacious, met all of our needs, was comfortable, spotlessly clean and had all the equipment in the kitchen needed. We had a very warm welcome from the owner, he was really kind to our three young children and took us on a little tour of the farm. He showed us the two week old cows in the shed, watched them get their milk feed and let the kids look at and sit in the tractor. We could see the horses coming and going to their stables all week, really great environment for the kids to experience. The view from the front of the property is also spectacular, you can see down to the Menai strait and the mountains beyond. We loved our stay, definitely will look to return in the future.

  • "The owner was pleasant and helpful."

The brochure picture is a bit misleading, as it looks like a stand-alone property, but is in fact part of a small complex. The property is comfortable and has most of the basics but lacks simple things like a pair of scissors, a colander, waste baskets in the bedrooms and bathrooms and nowhere to hang the towels in the downstairs bathroom. The condition of the mugs is poor and only a mis-matched few with one of them having a y-shaped crack that runs right through the mug. One of the mugs was a Cadbury Creme Egg mug, which is not what you expect to see. Also there needs to be a better provision of waste bags for the bin in the kitchen, as only one was left. The downstairs bedroom needs a blind, as there is no privacy there and the curtains needed to be kept closed. There was a lack of information at the property about the surrounding area and obtaining the wi-fi password was laborious, as it wasn't written down anywhere. While I accept that it's on a working farm, leaving wheelbarrows of manure outside the ground floor bedroom window means that opening the window is not a pleasant experience.

  • "Absolutely loved it here, can’t wait to go again."

There was so much to see and do in Anglesey, we didn’t even scratch the surface. We had just missed the northern lights at Penmon Point which was a shame though. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful, he’s a lovely man and is not intrusive. We had a bulb go in the bedroom, not anything we were too concerned about but mentioned it in passing and he sorted it straight away not bad as he had a lot of calvings going on at the farm. I must say it was absolutely wonderful to crawl into bed at night listening to the cows gently mooing in the cow shed next door. Please don’t let this put you off, it’s not loud in anyway or constant or enough to keep you awake, it’s a very gentle sound, just lovely. We were sad to leave, it was a very cosy house in a very quiet area. One tip, pack scissors and matches (for the log burner),

  • "It was lovely."

It would have been nice to have a welcome book with things like the recycling in. I had to use the council website. A guest book would also be nice so we could have read other people's recommendations. The only reason it didn't get full marks for cleanliness was the upstairs shower enclosure wasn't as clean as everywhere else. We found the knives to be sharp enough but we were glad of the advice to take some scissors. The kitchen was otherwise very well equipped. If visiting in the summer there doesn't seem to be anywhere private outdoors - not a problem in January.

We explored the South-South West side on a previous visit. A very warm and cosy property with a great open plan area to relax after a long day out walking! The kitchen was great with a modern cooker and other everyday fixtures. Lots of plates, cutlery and cooking equipment like we had at home, just lacked a few lids and containers for using and cooking with the microwave. The Modern Bathroom and upstairs en-suite were essential for a trouble free stay and made it easier when we realised that a window was overlooking the down stairs bathroom door... A blind for privacy would be an essential addition along with a storage shelf! Being on a working farm was good and the owners were always out and about to say Hello to you. Lots of wildlife and greenery in a nice open front, with a great view out to Menai as you looked out of the front doors. We just didn't expect Builders working on a new property that was being built... Again a privacy Blind would've been nice as we had to have the curtains closed on some of the mornings. Overall we enjoyed our stay and got to see another great part of North wales and Anglesey.

The Cottage (Hen Stabl) was really great and exceeded our expectations. We went there, fully aware that it was a 'Working' Farm and hence expected facilities and the accommodation to be 'functional'. Well, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted with the superb facilities and accommodation. As described on the website, it is an idyllic setting with magnificent views of Snowdonia National Park, Mountain Range, across the Menai Strait. The beach is a short walk away (around 10 mins). The Owners were very nice people indeed and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They were always ready to offer advice and guidance, particularly when were sightseeing or looking for places to have a Meal. • "Bunk room: The top bunk bed was not easily accessible for adults because the light from the ceiling was in the way."

As a result we couldn't use it and this then affected the sleeping arrangements. Suggest the beds need moving or the cottage details need amending. The bunk room also lacked a small wardrobe, cupboard or chest of drawers, which would have been useful, so could unpack. The bedside lamp needs a longer cable so that the bedside table can be next to the bed. The lounge area would benefit from 2 armchairs (even Ikea tub chairs) to make sitting and chatting more convivial rather than all sitting close together on the two 2-seater sofas. For both bathrooms, need a mat to step onto from the shower and bath - one person slipped on the bathroom floor stepping out of the shower. Loo roll - it would be useful in the particulars to know whether these are included, or whether you need to bring your own supplies. Apart from these things, the cottage was comfortable, well appointed and the kitchen was well-equipped. The lady was very friendly and helpful., coming in to sort out the heating and suggest walks. It was also well located for coastal walks to Red Wharf Bay and Beaumaris. We had a lovely weekend.

We were greeted with welsh cakes and wine (what more can one ask for?) which was really nice and welcome after the journey from London. We were in the cottage for two weeks and were offered full clean and linen change at the end of week one - which is rare. So much to do on the Island, but so easy for crossing over into mainland Wales and the Snowdonia mountains and scenery. Although there was a beach at the bottom of hills it was not pleasant and not somewhere to spend a day. There is a lovely beach at Benllech. The cottage was not very well cleaned. There were cobwebs in lots of places especially around light fittings and the outside windows were dirty. Only bath towels are provided, no hand towels. A shelf in the downstairs bathroom would be useful as there is nowhere to put toiletries. Since the cottage is surrounded by farm buildings the only nice view is from the front and that is partially blocked by trees. There is a shared garden. However, we had a nice time in spite of the bad weather. There is plenty to see and do and the area is beautiful.
