Location: Llanfechell, Isle Of Anglesey

Cemaes Bay 1.5 miles; Holyhead 15 miles.

Llanfechell is a small village situated 1.5 miles from Cemaes Bay, on the northern tip of Anglesey, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village gets its name from the nearby 12th century church, Mechell Church, which has been extended over the years and where it is believed St Mechell is buried. The ancient Parys mountain copper mines are just 2 miles away, with their lunar-like landscape. The area is popular with geologists and archaeologists due to the rock formations at Mechell Mountain and the several ancient monuments scattered around, reputed to be some of the oldest in the world. Llanfechell is home to a village pub, which offers traditional ales and a warm welcome. Nearby, the pretty seaside village of Cemaes Bay is home to three pubs, a few shops, a natural sheltered harbour and a Blue Flag sandy beach edged by grassy cliffs, ideal for safe bathing and family fun. The whole of the Isle of Anglesey is renowned for its miles of stunning and varied coastline offering wonderful walking and cycling, along with birdwatching, excellent watersports, fishing and many quality golf courses. Anglesey Sea Zoo and a variety of National Trust properties and gardens are all within reach on this beautiful island, while a day trip to Dublin can be enjoyed from nearby Holyhead. A great location offering something for all the family.
