The cottage has everything necessary and is cosy, comfortable and very clean. You have an excellent housekeeper! The Kinmel Arms is dog-friendly. Walks along the coastal path in either direction are excellent.

  • "What an absolute wonder of a cottage!"

We had a fantastic holiday here in the summer, and would go back again in a heartbeat! The cottage is beautifully quaint and a bit of a Tardis - rooms galore, and all nicely spacious, yet it still felt very cosy. If I could have taken the big sofa in the conservatory home with me, I would have - the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and had every conceivable thing we might have needed for a restful stay. In terms of location, again it was perfect - all the sights are within easy driving distance, and you can walk to a small shingle beach for a pub lunch. Also highly recommend a walk by the lifeboat building, with benches looking out to sea - very peaceful. The ideal place to stay with a dog - almost every pub was dog-friendly, and the cottage had a large, fully enclosed garden that was ideal for our little furball to explore. Perfect!

The house is cosy and was very clean. The kitchen is so well stocked, lots of crockery & great mugs for a brew in the morning! The conservatory is lovely and great for reading in the evening, the sofa is lovely & comfy. The garden is beautiful, it has a special vibe, very private & gets the sun all day. We loved the secure off road parking which was very safe & great for unpacking after a day on the beach. The bedrooms are cosy & the beds are so comfy! Plenty of room to hang your clothes. You are provided with lots of lovely huge soft towels. There are plenty of cleaning products & a washing machine which was great! There was hot water at all time. The road the cottage is on was nice and quiet. Great location, walk to pub, little beach, great for walks on costal path, my husband walked to Lligwy beach a few times with our dog & it took 30 minutes. I’d highly recommend a stay at this lovely cottage! We didn’t want to leave!

  • "Mum and I had a lovely stay, was a relaxing place to be."

We found it to be a well equipped property in a nice quiet location - easy on foot for coastal walks and the village for the pub/cafe/some ice cream or by car further afield. Would just say the second double bedroom is a little snug but there is plenty of space in the rest of the cottage. Recommend adding a couple of durable chopping boards to the otherwise very well equipped kitchen. Was nice to have dishcloths and tea towels provided and the garden is super safe for dogs (and kids!).

The most comfortable double beds ever. Garden a fantastic suntrap, high walls give shelter from any breeze off the coast and safe for dogs. Yes the bedrooms are small, ceilings low, and the over bath shower not full height, but it's quaint, modernised but retains original character. A lovely place to stay Dave, Edinburgh

  • "House clean and tidy, ample cutlery and crockery."

Beds and bedding was nice and comfy. Y Siop, the only shop that we could find was very basic and very expensive. Lots of coastal walks, cottage ideally positioned for walks. I had a trip to Home Bargains to purchased a small frying pan, as the one there was very scratched (it was only £4.99, good quality, I still took it home with me). I also purchased a couple of mugs as we didn't like the ones that were there, (I left those there), I also had to buy a dogs water and food bowl as we left the bag with them at home. Can't believe how cheap that shop is. Only thing we really didn't like was the Chinees torture during, and for the next two days after it rained. The main house gutter at the back constantly dripped onto the conservatory roof. It looked like one of the seals has gone, and it must be blocked up for it to carry on dripping for so long after the rain had stopped.

Hi Margaret, thank you for your feedback. Firstly can I apologise for the guttering overflowing and this will be addressed immediately. With regards to the cups and frying pan, I bought new for the season. I understand the cups may not be to everyone's taste and I will buy a smaller set of cups so guests have a choice. A need for dog bowls did cross my mind but was not sure how this would sit with our non dog owner guests and also if guest dogs were happy with their own bowls but I will consider it further. Thanks again for choosing our cottage . Property Owner

It smelt beautiful when we walked in, which you don't always get in a holiday rental! Although the kitchen itself was a little dated, it was absolutely fine for holiday cooking and there were lots of brand new plates, cups and glasses which we really appreciated. The living space was cosy and has some lovely touches that made it feel like a home from home. The garden was perfect for our dog and was secure. We even had some sunshine to enjoy it it.

Went for just a break away from it all last weekend with some friends, and couldn't have asked for more... picturesque coastal walks, late afternoon drinks in cosy local pubs and the most amazing evening meal at a local restaurant. Literally everything is on your doorstep, esp the gorgeous pebble beaches. And to come back to Bryn Peris after it all was just a joy, so comfortable, clean, and really tastefully kitted out, with all the appliances you need, including a lovely log burner. Didn't use the garden as it was a bit cold, but it provided a lovely backdrop when relaxing on the sofa in the conservatory, and can imagine it will be lovely to open the doors and walk straight out, in the warmer months. Seriously recommend this place!

  • "Cottage was really nice and we enjoyed our stay."

Two small negatives, water pressure in the shower was poor and the advertised logs for the fire were not left out, luckily I found some in the shed at the bottom of the garden. Thanks

Hi Terry, just wanted to thank you for your stay in our cottage and for bringing to our attention a couple of issues. We have appointed a new cleaner who is responsible for the logs etc and makes sure everything is there for guests arrival. A definite remarked improvement from now on. With regards to the water pressure , the cottage is over 200 yrs old and its continuously being improved after each season and we will definitely look into this issue. Property Owner

  • "We have had a great week."

The location is wonderful and we can see why the owners love this place so much. It was also really easy with our dogs and four teenagers (although the bunk beds really are more suited to small children). The bedrooms are very small but cosy. The doors are also very low which meant the two tallest family members knocked their heads on the frames quite a lot! The kitchen is well equipped - the only thing we really missed on the first morning was a way to make decent coffee so we bought a cafetière which we have left in the cupboard. There is also a slight problem with the guttering above the conservatory roof that was dripping all day & night, on the day it rained, just outside the bedroom window and was loud in the conservatory. We hired kayaks and paddleboards for the week which were delivered to the house and well used by our teens. Wonderful to be able to walk down to the beach every morning and evening and spot wildlife whilst the kids were on the water. The house certainly grew on us as we were there, we have enjoyed spending quality time as a family and would recommend it as a fantastic base for anyone to explore from.

The house was perfect for our family's needs, and the garden was a great size for our dog to run around in and just beautiful for us to sit in. The two children were thrilled that there was a Nintendo Switch for them to play on in the evenings! Only one comment to make would be for the addition of a cafetière in the kitchen. We're big coffee drinkers and missed being able to make a cafetière coffee in the mornings! We will hopefully be back again in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • "The house was comfortable and as described in the listing."

The bedrooms are small and if 6 people are staying it would be cramped as there’s not much storage upstairs. The kitchen was a good size and well stocked with utensils. The bathroom was spacious, the shower was good with plenty of hot water. Outside the back garden was a good size and enclosed if you have a dog with you. Moelfre is a lovely village with a shop, pub, cafe and a small stoney beach. There’s a beautiful sandy beach just a mile up the road. Overall we had a pleasant stay but wouldn’t stay here again as the bedrooms were just too small.

  • "A brilliant bolthole on Anglesey perfect for coastal walks and exploring the island."

Super-comfy beds, a lovely sunny garden, and enough space for our family of two adults, two teens plus our dog to chill out. The owners have thought about what you need to properly self-cater, with a well-stocked kitchen, washing machine and huge gas range cooker. We took advantage of some of the games in the living room one wet afternoon, but otherwise had wall-to-wall sunshine. We did need to report a minor issue with the guttering to the holiday company and they turned up to check it out the following day - great service. Moelfre is lovely; a quintessential fishing village with amazing ice cream, a pub, cafe and lovely little trinket shop. You can be on the coastal path in just a few minutes from the cottage’s front door. Head out to Lligwy beach for golden sands as far as the eye can see (c20 mins walk), or challenge yourself to walk to Benllech (about 2 hours and some tough terrain).

Thank you so much for your lovely positive feedback and its nice to hear that you had a lovely holiday and the weather was kind to you. We are sorry you had issues with the guttering but nice to know Menai Holiday Company came to deal with the problem for you . We hope you come and stay again in the near future. Thanks again. • "Oven and Grill wasn't clean and the oven trays were in a poor conditon."

Cutlery draw was a bit gruby. Advertised as pet friendly but pets not allowed on furniture or upstairs which would be a big issue for some. On the plus side the cottage was comfortable, nicely furnished. The beds were very comfortable. Garden seating was nice to use on sunny days. Off road parking was good. The cottage was only a few minutes walk from the beach and coastal walk, arrival and leaving times meant we in effect lost a day, Asking people to leave at 9.30am is pushing it especially as you ask folk to clear the bedding and towels and clean the house. Arriving at 5pm means you loose most of the day.

Thank you for your feedback it is greatly appreciated. We appologise regarding the trays and will replace them on our next visit in June. We have addressed the issue with the cutlery draw with the cleaners and asked them to overview the drawers etc and make sure they are clean for the next client. The arrival times have been changed as a client previously mentioned this so arrival is now 4pm and the leaving time is 10am as stated on the website. Thank you again and we hope to see you soon. I will definitely stay here again, the only negative I would say is he check in time at 5pm is too late when your are travelling with two young children it would be better if the check in time was earlier so you can drop all the luggage off first and head out for the day, also the check out time of 9.30am seems extremely early especially when travelling with young children you lose a day when the check-in time is so late and have to be out so early so that could do with looking into to make it more convenient for young families.

Hello and thanks for your feedback. I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Bryn Peris. The check in and out times were changed due to covid to allow cleaners more time and are are generally set by Sykes/Menai. I fully appreciate you comments and I have spoken to Menai who contacted the cleaner. Moving forward check in is 4pm and check out is 10am. I hope you feel this is more convenient and thanks again for your feedback. Property Owner

Thank you for your feedback and we are in the process of trying to address the situation with regards to the conservatory. Due to the age of the cottage it does not hold the heat so I agree it needs something especially during the colder months or evenings. We have since put a screen in the lounge which can be used by guests to partition the conservatory at night but we will be looking for a more permanent solution at the end of the holiday season Property Owner

Well furnished to a high quality and a well furnished kitchen. All that was missing was a tea pot ( thought that an essential !). Enjoyed the wood burning stove too. Good off road parking for 2 cars and a very easy walk to the centre of Moelfre and the beaches. Good village with a small shop, local pub (Kimnel Arms) and cafe/ restaurant ( Anne’s Pantry). Only issue was the back door which had swollen and couldn’t be opened which meant to get to the garden and cars you had to squeeze through the conservatory which was rather overfilled with a very very large sofa.

Ideally situated in a quiet spot just a stones throw from the village centre, costal walks from the doorstep. Lovely garden.Nice conservatory but spoiled by a huge sofa taking up all the room. Good parking but needs care coming out of enclosed drive as backs on to a minor road right on the bend, but road not too busy. Also no gate on front garden so bear in mind if you have a dog or children as this also leads out to the road. Nice pub in village, local shop has all basics with good local produce but go early for the lovely fresh bread. Plenty of places to eat in surrounding towns and most are dog friendly. The cottage is surprisingly spacious downstairs with a good sized family dining space and comfy sofa in the conservatory to relax into. We found the kitchen was very well equipped to cook family meals. The garden was a good size and fully enclosed so great for dogs, bbq's and eating outdoors if the weather allows! It was only a short walk to the pubs, cafe's and pretty pebble beach in the centre of Moelfre. You can access the coastal path nearby the cottage and there's a lovely walk to the beautiful, sandy Lligwy beach and cafe for a fab day out! It was a perfect location to explore Anglesey from, we had days out to Newborough, Church Bay, Trearrdur and Rhosneigr which were all around 30 minutes drive away. The property

Sitting within striking distance of the east coast of Anglesey in the pretty village of Moelfre is this detached property, Bryn Peris.

This two hundred year old cottage (which reputedly once housed Charles Dickens while he wrote about the wreck of the Royal Charter!) is ideal for families in pursuit of a traditional coastal holiday to this part of North Wales, home to the finest beaches and views.

The interior of the property enjoys a clever blend of traditional charm and contemporary design, creating a warm and welcoming base to return to each day.

Step into the sitting room, where the exposed beams frame the plush seating arrangement and the traditional open fire, a great spot for unwinding and tuning into the TV as the fire crackles.

Whilst the sitting room is great for the whole family to come together, the conservatory offers a tranquil space to enjoy an hour's peace and quiet.

Certain to entice a spot of home-cooking is the well-equipped, characterful kitchen, home to a Range cooker and everything else you could possibly need to rustle up a local dish or a tasty snack.

Join your loved ones within the dining room, where a woodburning stove gently fills the room with warmth as you toast to a wonderful holiday and plan the following day’s adventures.

As the evening draws to a close, head up the stairs to catch your rest within one the well-presented bedrooms, each one enjoying lovely views and enough hanging space for your belongings.

Choose between two double bedrooms and a bunk bedroom, which has been designed to delight any younger guests of the group.

During the summer months, venture out into your garden and soak up the sun on the lawn, offering a great spot for a picnic and spacious enough for your canine companions to stretch their legs.

Look forward to strolling around this charming village, where you will find a number of amenities, including the local shop of Rhen Fecws where you can pick up freshly baked bread, homemade cakes and essentials, accompanied by a pub, a fish and chip shop and a number of cafés.

Within the surrounding area you will be spoilt for choice by the beaches that are awaiting to be enjoyed, including the village’s local beach, Traeth Bychan, Porth yr Aber and Porth Helaeth, where all kinds of watersport opportunities can be had, from canoeing, kayaking and kite surfing.

For those wishing to explore further, choose to walk the coastal path for breath-taking scenery or immerse yourself in the local history to walking the Middle Ages Tour, where you will discover a 4th century stone-built Celtic-Romano village.

Further afield attractions include the beach at Newborough, the city of Bangor and Holyhead, where you can catch a ferry into Dublin for the day.

Bryn Peris is a splendid retreat promising a relaxed holiday in Moelfre.
