Location: Irvine

Troon 5 miles; Prestwick 8 miles; Ayr 12 miles.

Irvine is a Scottish 'new town' and the largest settlement on the north Ayrshire coast. There is a pretty harbourside walk, which takes in various features including an old crane, which highlights Irvine's former industrial heritage. There are coffee shops along the harbourside, a good local pub - The Ship Inn, a Maritime Museum, and the town also has a leisure centre with ice skating, indoor bowls, swimming pool and fitness facilities. For shopping, the Rivergate Shopping Centre is home to over 60 stores. Further afield in Ayrshire visitors can enjoy the history of Dundonald and Culzean Castles, play a round of golf at one of the many good courses in the area, or spend the day at one of the lovely beaches. In fact, the town of Ayr lies 12 miles further south along the coast and itself offers fine beaches and an esplanade. There are also good opportunities for hillwalking and cycling.

Previous visitors' comments about Riverview:

Location was excellent for our time in the area, close to shops, pubs and restaurants.
Mr Hiley, North Haven, February 2012

The area was very good with lovely views of the estuary and surroundings. The shopping precinct was near enough to be handy but not intrusive. Transport was also handy and good value for money. All in all it was a very enjoyable holiday.
Mr Towell, Torquay, September 2011

This is an excellent flat that was clean, spacious and very well appointed and decorated. The views onto the estuary and mountains were superb. It is well positioned for eating, leisure, beach and shopping locations.
Mr Thomas, Plymouth, July 2011

Spotlessly clean and comfortable accommodation. Lovely views onto the river from front rooms. Great location for road and rail links. Good local shopping for self catering.
Miss Pattison, Newcastle upon Tyne, July 2011
