    • “Despite a good 5 cent of snow on the sunday and a freezing week, we had a lovely time. The Lodge was so cosy and warm the whole week, and apart from an electric kettle we couldn't have wanted for anything else. We visited Cambridge, using the park and ride, which for us oldies was perfect, We also spent several hours at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, an excellent day out, even for myself who is not a museum lover. We hope to return when the weather is better and sample the meals in the village pub and hopefully be able to fish in the marina!! Ideal for two adults and two children.”

    • “This lodge is lovely, we returned for the second time this year. The lodge itself is lovely, spacious, clean and well equipped. The garden area also has everything you need for either relaxing or a bbq. My husband is a very keen angler and thought the fishing at the bottom of the garden was excellent. We will certainly be returning and would recommend to friends and family”

    • “What a gem of a place! This wasthe ideal place for a week of sightseeing in the area and just relaxing on the terrace in the sunshine. So quiet and relaxing it was just perfect. At night it was amazing to see so many stars! We even enjoyed the US army planes nearby! The lodge was all we could wish for - spotlessly clean and tidy and everything thought of for the guests. Loved having our own set of ducks to feed ! Plenty of good places to eat nearby - would recommend The Walnut Tree ineae Mildenhall especially. We had a perfect week and would definitely return for another time.”

    • “We felt the lodge had the 'wow' factor. Cleanliness is a priority to us and there was nothing left wanting. We even managed the staircase quite easily. To be fair, the barbecue couldn't be found, but had it been vital I am sure we could have telephoned the owner who we had already found extremely amenable when making key-collection arrangements. We wanted a peaceful, restful holiday and that is what we got. We have shown photographs to family and friends who have shown active interest and now know the website.”

    • “The house was perfect, everything was just perfect, the rooms were well furnished and the location was just splendid. We will be back.Sykes is the best holiday company we have used in over 40 years of holiday homes and for people on a fixed income not expensive.”

    • “This Swiss style chalet was set amongst others all on the tributaries of the river. The setting started off the holiday perfectly. This was going to be the weeks best holiday for years. The accommodaton had a large lounge with sliding doors overlooking the verandah, garden, mooring and the river.A large downstairs bedroom with a most comfortable double bed and a shower room just off it with underfloor heating,oh how good to have warm feet when just coming out of the shower getting dried.A well fitted kitchen/diner finished off the downstairs accomodation.A further bedroom upstirs, albeit an open spiral staircase, possibly dangerous for very young children but fine for anyone else. This did not spoil it for us as there was only my wife and myself. I would highly recommend this accomodation as long as there were no small children if you enjoy peace and quiet with a wonderful relaxing setting. There are also some good walks from here.Just to round off all of this you also have your own boat!! Yes!! We would most definitely come here again.”

    • “peace quiet and tranquility”
    • tripadvisor rating
    • “Lovely stay, the lodge has a modern kitchen and is light and airy with amazing view from both inside the lodge and from the much used balcony. We were blessed with some lovely eveings so it is ideal to sit in the evening sun on the balcony. The lodge would benefit from some TLC in the cleaning/manitenance departments but was more than adequate for our our stay. The bed and sofas are different from the pictures advertised and no DVD as stated(brought to the attention of the owner) The lock is an issue and the decking in the garden needs some attention. Take care when using the boat as it can tip very easily. This property is not suitable for disabled due to the steps that need negotiating to enter the property. The garden is lovely when you have a dog and so you can sit by the edge of the water and feed the ducks and swans. Great for bird watching too. Lovely walks in and around Isleham and trips to Ely, Wicken Fen and Thetford Forest are a must. Despite small grumbles would still be happy to return.”

    • “Well situated accommodation which was comfortable and well equipped. The waterside location was a particular bonus, enhanced by the availability of a boat which enabled us to enjoy Spring more widely. Pleased we were able to find such quality accommodation at short notice, well assisted by Sykes staff. A downside was the unavoidable noise of air traffic due to the flat terrain. Overall a very enjoyable break and we will consider returning at some stage.”

The open plan was nice and we greatly enjoyed the geese and ducks which congregated on the water at the bottom of the garden each time you went outside, very amusing. • “We thoroughly enjoyed the Riverside Lodge, its location is idyllic. The house is perfectly equipped, a home from home, I actually preferred its kitchen to my own! The fens are breathtakingly beautiful; the fields, the vast skies, the lines of gently swaying poplars, and the ubiquitous silhouette of Ely cathedral on the horizon. We loved our cycle rides, met friendly locals and enjoyed the sights.”
