The village of Doonbeg (meaning small fort) in County Clare grew up around the remains of Doonbeg Castle, which was built in the 16th Century. The village and surrounding area offer a good variety of pubs (many providing traditional Irish music), while for golf enthusiasts, Greg Norman's course at Doughmore, the Doonbeg Golf Club Course, is open for some of the finest golf in the world. Local walks highlight the area's natural beauty, or try exploring the white sand beaches from horseback. Doughmore Strand and Spanish Point are renowned for quality surfing, while the towns of Kilrush and Carrigaholt offer boat trips for dolphin watching. With fishing, deep sea angling, boat charter, the West Clare Railway and even the International Jazz Festival over Whit weekend, you will find plenty of ways to spend your holiday in this beautiful part of Ireland.

Offering simple, comfortable accommodation with 3 bedrooms, 2 en-suite bathrooms and open plan living areas, this is an ideal property for enjoying a taste of Irish life. With excellent walking from the doorstep and easy access to the beach, this property is a perfect base to explore Clare's coast and all it has to offer, and in addition, Doonbeg golf course, sandy beaches, surfing and dolphin watching are all within easy reach.
