Galway City 18 miles; Burren National Park 19 miles.
A picturesque seaside village in south County Galway, Kinvara is located on the edge of the world renowned "Burren" on Galway Bay. The entrance into Kinvara is marked by Dunguaire Castle, where medieval banquets are still hosted, and the quaint harbour still holds working examples of 'Galway Hookers', the majestic sailing craft which used to sell their wares between Connemara & Kinvara. Home to numerous pubs, shops and eateries, with a renowned farmer’s market every Friday and hosting two festivals celebrating culture and heritage each year, there is no shortage of things to do here. The small city of Galway, affectionately known as the “city of festivals”, with its pretty alleyways and colourful nightlife is within easy reach, and only a little further is Burren National Park where animals and plant life are abundant, and there are numerous walking opportunities. A wonderful location, at any time of the year.

Previous visitors' comments about Mickey’s Cottage:
We spent two weeks in this lovely traditional cottage, well equipped and cosy inside. The owner was caring, helpful, and welcoming. Our dog Sam loved the enclosed garden, and his canine mates up the road. We liked the location, with the Burren to the South, and Connemara to the North West. Kinvara provided all the sustenance required at a variety of bars, cafes & restaurants!! Excellent value for a relaxing break.
