Lisdoonvarna is Ireland's premier Spa town, situated in the Burren region of County Clare, and is home to the Spa Wells Health Centre, the only active spa centre in Ireland, boasting a Victorian pump house, sauna, massage room and mineral baths, situated in woodland surroundings. The town is also home to the 150 year old Matchmaking Festival, which takes place every year during September and October. Attracting thousands from around the world, the festival offers music, dancing and horse racing and finishes with the grand final where the best matched couple are awarded the coveted titles of "Mr Lisdoonvarna" and "Queen of the Burren"! Lisdoonvarna has eight pubs, some offering traditional Irish music, and good shops and restaurants. Just 3 miles away is the village of Doolin, which is known for its traditional Irish music, plus a ferry service operates daily from Doolin to the Aran Islands. Lahinch, 9 miles away, is a bustling seaside resort, offering a promenade, golf links, Seaworld and a leisure complex. Ideal for surfing, Lahinch offers a one-mile stretch of golden beach, together with numerous traditional pubs and restaurants. A lovely part of north Clare, with something for everyone.

This comfy Lisdoonvarna cottage has two double bedrooms, a shower room, attractive fitted kitchen with dining area and a cosy sitting room with an oil-burning stove, perfect for chillier evenings. From this Lisdoonvarna cottage the attractions of County Clare await. Nearby Doolin has a ferry service to the Aran Islands, while Lahinch offers a sandy beach, promenade and leisure complex. The breathtaking Cliffs of Moher and the eerie limestone landscape of The Burren are an easy drive from this Lisdoonvarna cottage. Lisdoonvarna itself has a variety of shops and eateries, as well as the annual Matchmaking Festival, and the only active spa centre in Ireland. A great Lisdoonvarna cottage base.
