Mountshannon is a lovely village on the shores of Lough Derg in County Clare, with pubs, a shop and a hotel. Mountshannon has a small harbour facing south onto the Lough, and a safe family bathing area. Mountshannon also has a small but well maintained park with lough views. There is easy access to Inish Cealtra, or Holy Island, from the village, and tours around the island are provided. On Inish Cealtra are church ruins, stone crosses, and a cemetery which is still in use. The more romantic visitors to Inish Cealtra may care to pledge their love by holding hands through the hole in the stone and vowing to be true. 5 miles away is Scarriff, a large village with great angling. Fishing, walking and cycling are all on offer throughout the area, and Lough Derg itself is popular for fishing, boating and sailing.

This cosy Mountshannon cottage is ideal for families, couples or friends, with lough views, comfy accommodation and an open fire in the sitting room. Outside this Mountshannon cottage, there is plenty of space for children to run around, or for you to enjoy a BBQ whilst taking in the view of the lough. Inside this Mountshannon cottage there are three bedrooms, one with an en-suite, and a well-equipped kitchen. Snuggle up in front of a nice open turf fire, or use the electric stove to make the most of cosy nights in your Mountshannon cottage. The village has pubs and a shop, with further amenities available in Scarriff, a short drive from this Mountshannon cottage. Visit Inish Cealtra, spend the afternoon fishing or take a dip in the lough itself, there is so much to do from your Mountshannon cottage.
