Location: Grenagh, County Cork

Blarney Castle Estate 7 miles; Mallow 13 miles; Cork City 13 miles.

The small village of Grenagh lies equidistant between Cork City and the busy town of Mallow, and provides all the necessary amenities including a shop, chemist, medical centre, hairdresser’s, post office and church. Set deep in the heart of the Blackwater Valley, Mallow provides great fishing, and the 168km Blackwater River is notably one of the best salmon fishing rivers in Ireland. Only a short drive from Grenagh is Blarney Castle; with its Rock Close, beautiful gardens and famous Stone of Eloquence; tourists and locals alike return time and again. The Old Midleton Distillery, home to The Jameson Heritage Centre, is within easy driving distance, and with its popular tour, ending with a whiskey tasting session, it is a great day out for all adults. Cobh, which was the last port of call of the ill fated Titanic, is close to Midleton and also in this area you will find FOTA wildlife park, which is interesting for all the family. Killarney is a 1 hour drive from Mallow, as is the town of Kinsale. With so much to do, and something to keep everybody busy, Grenagh is the perfect base for exploring the south west of Ireland.
