The village of Glencar is located above Caragh Lake along the Ring of Kerry in Ireland. Glencar is a nature lover's paradise with Lickeen Forest, Caragh River and Caragh Lake offering wonderful scenery and great walking and angling opportunities. The area is also famous for its rough shooting of woodcock, snipe, pheasant, duck and hare between November and January. The village is home to The Climbers' Inn, which offers good food and drink along with a post office and food store. The pretty town of Killorglin is within easy reach, the gateway to the Ring of Kerry, offering a variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants, while an abundance of sandy beaches and golf courses are within easy driving distance.

Glencar 2.5 miles. A lovely detached old stone house, peacefully and scenically situated near to Blackstones Bridge over the River Caragh, 2.5 miles from the village of Glencar in County Kerry, Ireland. Boasting panoramic views of the McGillycuddy Reeks and highlands of Glencar, Teach Altra has been lovingly restored to a high standard and offers two ensuite bedrooms, a cosy sitting room with open fire and a welcoming kitchen with woodburner, dining area and sliding doors to the garden, a perfect place in which to relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery. The village of Glencar is close by, offering a shop and pub, while the area is great for walking and angling, and rough shooting between November and January. Within easy reach are Killorglin, the gateway to the Ring of Kerry, boasting a golf course and a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, along with more golf courses at Killarney and Beaufort and beaches at Rossbeigh, Banna Strand and Inch.
