The market town of Skibbereen boasts colourful shops, restaurants and pubs and along with the fascinating West Cork Arts Centre and Skibbereen Heritage Centre, you will be guaranteed a warm welcome by the town's inhabitants. Skibbereen prides itself on excellent local produce, including local seafood, local meat and bread from its own bakery, as well as weekly country and farmers’ markets. It is also situated at the heart of some of Ireland's most beautiful scenery, with sandy beaches, secluded coves, fast-flowing rivers, lakes, hills and forests, all easily accessible for walkers, cyclists and drivers. Further afield but within driving distance is the lively market town of Kinsale - renowned as the “gourmet capital of Ireland” and famous for its food, friendliness and traditional flavour. There are dolphin and whale watching opportunities available in the area and an array of beaches and rugged cliffs, making this a walker's delight and a sunbather's paradise, and the ideal location for discovering this unspoilt area of West Cork.

A delightful semi detached cottage situated in rural Cork, just 6 miles from Skibbereen. Full of charming character with a cosy woodburner in the sitting room, and a large kitchen with dining area, this property offers well equipped and comfortable accommodation. For those sunny Irish afternoons there is also a unique “viewing spot” across the sea to Heir Island at the top of the garden. With Skibbereen's sandy beaches, colourful shops and pubs just 6 miles away, there is plenty to do for all the family, including the Heritage Centre, fascinating West Cork Arts Centre, a superb golf course and an indoor sports centre. Heir Island is within easy reach via a 5 minute boat journey from the nearby Cunnamore Point and offers a unique day out with breathtaking landscapes, walking, cycling and the celebrated Island Cottage restaurant. Slightly further via boat or road is the harbour town of Baltimore, extremely popular for water sports, dolphin and whale watching and its many shipwrecks.
