The village of Conna is situated in County Cork, close to the border with County Waterford. The village is located on the River Bride, a tributary of the Blackwater River which offers excellent brown trout and salmon fishing, and is also home to Conna Castle, which dates back to c. 1500 and sits in a dramatic position on a rock overlooking the River Bride. Just 5 miles away, in the county of Waterford, is the town of Tallow, which is situated deep in a valley on the Blackwater Valley Scenic Drive, while the town of Fermoy is 10 miles away, in the centre of the Blackwater Valley, renowned for its inland fishing and a great base for exploring the history of north and east County Cork. Visit the lively heritage town of Lismore in County Waterford, which boasts an imposing castle, Jacobean gardens, live pub music and a renowned golf course, or travel a little further to the spectacular coastline between Youghal and Dungarvan, where there are beaches, bays and cliff tops to explore.

Visit the lively town of Lismore in County Waterford, with its impressive castle and renowned golf course, or the coastal resort of Youghal where you can enjoy its blue flag beaches, bars, live music and seafood restaurants. Travel a little further from this Cork cottage to the whiskey distillery in Middleton, or visit Cork City, with its impressive opera house and jail museum. A great Cork cottage base for exploring this wonderful area.
