  • "Great accommodation in a beautiful location."

Loved the view down to the beach and being able to hear the sea from the balcony. The cottage was fab and the showers were 10/10. Would definitely recommend.

  • "The property was as listed and had pretty much everything that we needed ."

..pool nice extra as were the tennis courts (provision of racquets a nice touch) beautiful view from the property the only thing that would have been nice would have been a couple of fold up beach chairs for the beach as space was tight we didn't take our own ...but enjoyed our stay.

  • "What a wonderful holiday in a fantastic apartment!"

The apartment has fabulous views over the beach and surrounding hills from the balcony, is a good size, very close to the beach and well equipped with everything you could possibly need (even tennis rackets and balls). It also has a wonderful leisure centre with great staff who are really helpful. Although seemingly lacking in transport, there is a regular bus service (every hour) with a short walk through the woods to a bus stop at Bareppa to catch the No 35/63 bus. A minor point is that some of the instructions need updating as they are out of date since Covid.

  • "We had a lovely week at The Crow's Nest."

The property is well equipped, clean and had loads of extras we weren't expecting! Our girls didn't want to leave at the end of the week! Thank you for a fantastic holiday.

  • "Wow loved it so much on day 4 of the holiday booked to go back again in September."

First time we have ever done that. Sykes do need to update their arrival instructions as they were confusing & contradictory. Luckily the owner texted us on the day to clarify as other people had the same problem.

No instructions for the heating controls, main bathroom light automatic switch off too short & second bed not made up, difficult access and really only suitable for a single person

  • "Typical of most estate agents, the photos of this apartment make it feel that it is bigger than it actually is."

It is also showing its age here and there – a bit of TLC would not come amiss. Whilst OK for my wife and I, it could be quite cramped with 4 adults or 2 children. Unfortunately, the instructions for opening the main barrier to the estate were rather confusing, as two pin numbers were given, but only one is correct. Also, the remote key fob does not work as this system was discarded by the estate some time ago. The hot water temperature was too high, making taking a shower a bit perilous as there seemed to be only two settings, very hot or super hot! I am 6ft 6 inches tall, but found the rooms to be OK, apart from the main bed being very low on the floor. Unfortunately for us, the weather was not that good with a lot of rain and also quite cold, the radiators were just about adequate. Because of the weather, we could not really make use of the two balconies, but no doubt in the summer they would be very good. The kitchen was well fitted with adequate tools, but a larger frying pan would be good, especially as we like eating a lot of fish! We ate in the Cove Restaurant, just below the estate, on our first night and the food here was very good. We did not make use of the leisure facilities, but the apartment/estate, overlooking the beach, is in a good location and the road into Maenporth not too bad. Overall we had an enjoyable week in this apartment, whilst reasonable value at this time of year, not sure we would like to pay more in high season.

  • "A pleasant, comfortable flat in an excellent location."

The flat was comfortable, neat and clean. The heating was very controllable and the kitchen well equipped. The owner was very responsive and sorted out a minor problem for us quickly and efficiently. The location is excellent (if you are happy walking up hills) and the view is great. The use of the leisure centre is a great advantage when it rains and the leisure centre has an outside tap for rinsing wetsuits and the like. The only downside is that the bedrooms are slightly on the small side. The main bedroom doesn't have much drawer space (there is an ample chest of drawers in the second bedroom). The second bedroom has a bed which may be rather small for a couple and only one side and the bottom end of the bed are accessible.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at The Crow's Nest."

A very comfortable, well equipped apartment with all "mod cons". Lovely and quiet with great views from the two balconies. We really enjoyed using the onsite swimming pool and jacuzzi. The whole estate was beautifully kept with lovely planting throughout. We enjoyed lots of coastal walks and it was easy to walk into the local village where we were able to use local buses. The property owner was very helpful and prompt to answer a couple of small queries we had. We would highly recommend this superb property.

  • "Wonderful apartment in a fantastic location (such easy access to a lovely beach) and wonderful on site facilities with the heated indoor swimming pool to enjoy."

We had a lovely week at the Crow's nest, thank you. We hope to return one day for another Maenporth break.

  • "A memorable holiday in an amazing location."

The accommodation was extremely well presented and to a very high standard. Everything was in tip top condition and very clean. The only slight improvement that could be made would be the beds in that they were a little short but given the dimensions of the bedrooms they probably couldn’t get much bigger. The views from the two balconies were amazing and provided a great place to sit on an evening. The walk to the beach isn’t long at all but be prepared for a steep walk/ steps back to the accommodation. All that said the Crows Nest is definitely somewhere we would look to return to.

It was comfortable and well provided for. Loo roll very thin, therefore used a lot more, and the floor was quite sandy to walk on with bare feet. Lovely views and very quiet

  • "Crows Nest is finished and furnished to a very high standard."

It is very compact (particularly in the bedroom areas) and would be very unsuitable for anybody large or tall. We enjoyed our stay there. Our only complaint is that the lounge chairs (although stylish) were very uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time.

Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we are pleased to confirm that there is now a new sofa and chair at the property. We do hope that you will visit again in the future. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed facilities on site, following covid regulations were very good but we were unable to book early or late swims, happy that we were able use pool, sauna, jacuzzi & tennis courts."

Beach, coastal walks, views amazing. Unfortunately unable to book The Cove restaurant for dinner or breakfast, which is right on the door step of the complex. (Tried booking several times in weeks before staying at the Crows Nest) No shop local to walk to for snacks or other food items, so means getting in car with roads that are very tight in places or can only fit one car at a time! Luckily beach cafe was good to use offering a reasonable choice.
