A delightfully peaceful country town, nestling in the Fowey river valley amid the woods and fields that characterise the area. Renowned as a centre for the antiques trade, there are several shops and dealers in the town, as well as a fine collection of country pubs, restaurants and a thriving farmer’s market. Lanhydrock House (NT) and gardens is just 3 miles away, while the fabulous Eden Project, shipwreck museum and tall ships harbour at Charlestown, and the picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey are all within 30 minutes by car. The tumbling surf, long sandy beaches and dramatic coastline of the north coast make for great days out. The river Fowey runs from the town on its 8 mile journey through the fields and wooded valleys to the gentler southern coast, a natural paradise for those who love the sea. Centrally placed, with much to do and see in the immediate area, Lostwithiel is the perfect choice for those seeking a break away from the hectic pace of the tourist resorts.

Previous visitors' comments about Brambles:
The quiet and central location suited the type of holiday that we enjoy as much of the places we like to visit. We would also like to add a sincere comment about the owner who went the extra mile for us on the day we arrived. That was at 19:30 at a garage recommended by him having been towed for about 150 miles by the AA. He collected us and took us to the cottage. On the Saturday he drove me to Wadebridge, about 15 miles, to collect a very satisfactory hire care at a reasonable price that he had researched online. He rescued the Holiday. With our heartfelt thanks please let him know that when I am able to help someone else his kindness will be passed on.

The peace and quiet of the location. The cottage had everything that we needed for an enjoyable relaxing holiday. Very close to attractions for days out.
Mrs Ward, Crawley, June 2011
Cottage was pleasant and cosy and scones and cream were welcome on arrival. Good location - could walk into NT Lanhydrock by the back gate!
Slight problem as there were thousands of pheasants around and the dog couldn't be let off lead! Access to north and south coast of Cornwall easy.
Mrs Gandy, Maidenhead, October 2010
Cottage very comfortable with practical amenities/facilities which worked!
Accessibility of Eden Project, Lanhydrock and many other attractions.
