  • "This is our 2nd stay at Myrtle and it was just as brilliant as the first time."

The house is stunning, the location is perfect, and Claire the Sykes house manager was fantastic - she organised an easily and late check in for us and nothing was too much trouble. This house is more like a 5 star hotel than anything else - we miss it already!

  • "Loved Myrtle house and all of it's quirkiness and interesting things to look at."

The location was fabulous. All of the communication before during and after was amazing. It was, without exception, the best equipped house we've ever stayed in and we really appreciated the little touches like the welcome hamper. If I was being picky, there are a few things I'd like to mention- - the radiator in the dining room wasn't working properly and so we only used that room once as it was cold - to loft room is only really suitable for kids. Lots of head bumps with our teenagers - more mugs please as we kept running out -bath robes for everyone? there was only 1 per room. None of the above detracted from our stay though and we will definitely come back. Thank you for the loan of your beautiful house.

  • "A most attractive, well equipped and welcoming house in a pleasant area near shops and cafes ,and with a good park opposite for walking the dog."

Great kitchen where we were able to develop our cooking skills.Although no onsite parking ,secure parking for one car was a few minutes away and we managed to find a parking space on the prom where we left the other car for the week.We found an outstanding and reasonably priced fish restaurant iin Newlyn ,theTolcarne Inn .The main negative of the house we found was that while 3 bedrooms were excellent ,the one in the top floor loft conversion had such low ceilings it was really only suitable for children or the vertically challenged!

  • "A beautiful well maintained house in a central location and an amazing welcome pack that was very much appreciated."

The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything one could want. It would have been good to have had sufficient comfy chairs in the living room. There was only a 2 seater sofa and one armchair and as we were 6 adults and 1 child we barely used this room and sat in the kitchen instead.

The front garden makes being outside very private, one parking space nearby and easy enough to park on the seafront too (no restrictions) home from home …. We will be back.

It is beautifully presented and spacious. We loved our time there and would come back to stay in a heartbeat. The hosts have thought of everything including, but not restricted to, a generous gift basket of goodies with more in the fridge! The best place we have ever stayed by far!

Comfortable beds and lovely rooms, the "chef" in the family was wowed with the kitchen. Position was secluded but in the heart of Penzance, lovely cottage garden and public gardens opposite. We were a family of five with two small dogs.

  • "We absolutely loved Myrtle House."

The attention to detail in its decor was amazing. The house was always warm and all furniture was comfortable, clean and stylish. It’s a rare find and one that we are so happy to have discovered. Claire the house manager was fantastic at communicating with us and we really appreciated the slightly earlier check in. It’s the best house we’ve ever rented and will definitely return :-)

  • "Our stay over the New Year 2022/23 was amazing!"

We were made to feel welcome from when we stepped inside. The house was just the right size for 6 adults, 2 children and a dog. Ideally situated for the town but also for us to travel to all our favourite places! The kitchen has everything you need for family dinners and the beds were all comfortable. The showers in the en-suites powerful. The one in the attic is small. Mainly for little people! I couldn’t recommend this more highly. Claire our contact was very responsive. If you are looking… book it. You will not be disappointed!

  • "Had a fab week at Myrtle House (apart from the weather)."

The house is stunning and beautifully warm and spacious. A great kitchen with everything you could possibly need and a lovely welcome hamper. The bedrooms were large and well appointed with wonderful views over Morrab Gardens and down to the sea. (The only drawback was the handle on the first floor bedroom wasn't screwed on and came off whenever we used it.) There was a great range of books and so many quirky touches around the place that it was a real pleasure to stay there and I would highly recommend it to anyone who fancies a bit of luxury. A big thank you to Claire who was on hand if we needed any help, and to Anne-Marie and her team who ensured the house was absolutely spotless.

  • "Wow Mrtyle House did not disappoint, it was perfectly located, beautifully presented and well equipped, we had everything we could possibly need."

From the fluffy towels, bathrobes, slippers and organic Cornish toiletries to the quirky touches and the welcome hamper it was an ideal base to explore the joys of Cornwall. We had the most amazing week and although we have only been home for 2 weeks we still have the serious "holiday blues" and have already had the chat about returning next year. A massive thank you to Claire and her team for ensuring the house was clean, welcoming and comfortable. We would like to give a shout out to Mermaid Alley, best meal of the holiday and the Honeypot Cafe for a scrumptious breakfast. My only criticism was 9am check out was a bit tough but appreciate the property needs to be turned around for the next guests. I would 100% recommend Mrtyle House to anyone looking to stay somewhere a little bit special. So, thank and until the next time .............. Sarah, Steve, Sall, Nigel, Ellie, Bernie, Joe and Jenny

  • "Myrtle House is gorgeous and very well-equipped for people who enjoy cooking."

The bedrooms were large and luxurious and we appreciated the towels, soap and shower gel. The books, interesting pictures and pottery made it feel as if we had borrowed a friend's house. Dishwasher tablets and washing liquid also available which is not always the case in holiday properties.

  • "We have just returned from a lovely week staying here, the house is amazing and I can’t fault anything."

The overall feel to the house really does make you feel welcome and really looked after. The kitchen is stocked well with all the equipment that you need and throughout the house there are candles and lovely personal touches that really make you feel at home. The owner and house keeper were on hand for any questions we had and we were left a lovely welcome pack too. We used the allocated parking space which was just a short walk away and for the other car we had with us we parked it along the seafront at the bottom of the road and that was free and all felt very safe. (When you arrive you can park up outside and unload easily) The location is perfect and the seafront, pubs and restaurants all just a few mins walk away and it’s also in a quiet road so you don’t hear any noise from the high street, plus it’s opposite to an entrance to a beautiful park that you can have a lovely stroll around to unwind. I would 100% recommend staying here, we didn’t want to leave!

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
