The cottage is extremely clean and the beds exceptionally comfortable. This is the second year we have been and hope to make it a third year in 2024. Nothing is too much trouble for Jo the owner, and she makes the most delicious chocolate cake!

  • "Another great holiday in Nanvivian!"

The welcoming cake and flowers as lovely as ever! Our grandson enjoyed swimming from Loe Beach with his grandad and although the weather wasn't brilliant, much fun was had by all! The cottage is in such a calm and peaceful location and the view is wonderful; it is a joy to watch all the different boats on the Carrick Roads. Looking forward to our next visit!

  • "It was a lovely property right in front of the beach ."

The pictures and reviews very accurately described the property. The landlady had baked a whole chocolate cake and left it for us in the morning of our arrival day which was really sweet. The cafe next door is handy for a meal and has good food. The house was clean and well maintained - sheets were white and crisp and bathroom and toilets were very clean ( which ia the main worry when you book bespoke places) . The views from both bedrooms and the conservatory and garden were all lovely . Nice to wake up looking at the sea. Great place for a quite sojourn !

It’s simply perfect. Like a big warm hug with no frills just comfort and lovely treats. Plus the most breathtaking views you can imagine. Lots to do and see around the area if you can tear yourself away from that view! We’ll be back…

So close to the beach, that walking down in the morning with a cup of tea was a delight. The cottage has everything you need and is ideal for 6 people. The host was great with communication and helped enormously when we needed some urgent assistance. We will most certainly visit again.

  • "We have just spent the most amazing 2 weeks holiday at Nanvivian."

The house was very clean and had all the facilities that we needed. The position is superb not only the beautiful view across the water and the easy access to the beach especially for the water sports. We cannot wait to return and hope to get booked up for next year.

  • "Garden in need of serious attention."

I couldn’t even get my vehicle half way up the drive because of overgrown trees. Even getting in the door you had to step over intruding plants. In general the furniture was very tired. Lacked outdoor comfort too. As a dog friendly cottage, it would be good to have part of the garden enclosed too.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that. Our gardener was away for 2 weeks on holiday, but large vehicles are frequently able to park right at the top of the drive. We have never had these comments before. Unfortunately it is not feasible to make the front garden enclosed but the back yard is secure for use for dogs, which we did explain during your stay. The beach (which we also own) is dog friendly 12 months of the year which is unusual as most beaches prohibit dogs for the summer. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was light and airy and very peaceful."

The weather was not warm enough for us to make use of the garden for eating out which was a shame, but the cottage was cosy. It should really have a dishwasher for the price we paid, but all the other facilities were excellent.

  • "We love Nanvivian because it is unpretentious but welcoming."

It feels like coming home. My husband would like WiFi but I’m happy to be without it for a change! Lying in bed and listening to the waves and the birds is just perfect.

  • "A quaint cottage with stunning views however we hadn't realised how low the ceilings/door frames were and even with the numerous 'mind your head' signs my husband at 6' 3" repeatedly was banging his head."

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback which we have discussed with the property owner who confirms that all ceilings and doorways are of standard size apart from 1 low level ceiling on the stair case which does have a sign to make guests aware. Despite this we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit and those tremendous views. Property Owner

  • "Electric cooker needs replacing, also kitchen knives old and blunt"

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We understand the Owners visited during your holiday to demonstrate that the electric cooker is working. The kitchen at Navivian also has a Rayburn for slow cooking and a combination oven with microwave and grill. The knives have been checked and are all in good order: there is a knife sharpener in the drawer too. Property Owner

  • "The location of this property is fantastic."

..right by the sea with a lovely view form the bedroom window. However it could definitely do with some love and TLC. For the price one would expect better facilities - cookware, TVs, wifi, tumble dryer, and the like.

  • "We absolutely loved our week in this traditional cottage, equipped with everything we needed, very comfortable and we very much liked the separate dining, living and sun rooms which gave our family group ample room."

The garden is fabulous with the most amazing view over the water with the boats, so mesmerising (the view also from both double bedrooms), and the literally 2 minute walk down to the pebble beach was just perfect. We were lucky with the weather and swam off the beach every day, and often came back for an evening stroll before the Grandchildren got ready for bed, such an unusual feature, which we totally loved. Our daughter and son-in-law and both grandchildren went out kayaking from the same beach and had great fun, and the beach cafe was also really nice, (we had a roll with mackerel, rocket salad with horseradish and chips one lunchtime). It's difficult to find anything negative to say about Nanvivian cottage, so I won't! Safe to say we're more than likely to arrange another week in this gem of a find, and I'm almost reluctant to share this review for fear of not getting a chance to re-book! Jo, who runs the place was charming and helpful in every way, and made sure all was in tip top shape, even down to beautiful fresh flowers from the garden in all the rooms, and a scrummy chocolate cake waiting in the kitchen!
