  • "We had a lovely week in The Penthouse."

It was very well equipped with everything we needed even with bits you wouldn't expect. It was a home away from home. The welcome basket was very thoughtful and very welcome after our long journey. The weather was also kind to us on our week which is always a bonus.

  • "The apartment was very clean and well presented, with the addition of welcome pack of Cornish fare."

The Manor House is situated in a small holiday complex but this did not impinge on the tranquility of the main house and our accommodation, The Penthouse.

  • "The Penthouse apartment is lovely."

It is spacious and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Good communication from the owners and a lovely welcome pack of local goodies. Easy to get to St Ives which is 6 miles away and lots of local stores for groceries. I would recommend this to friends and family and would happily go back again. We visited some great places in particular the Minack theatre and Porthcurno beach which We’re fabulous!

  • "The apartment was a real home from home experience and the owner had really thought of everything down to providing lunch boxes for picnics, pizza cutters and many other ad hoc things which are often not thought of until you need them!"

The apartment was very clean and tidy and set in a beautiful location. The grounds were very well maintained and the apartment was very peaceful and away from everything. We did try out the onsite pub for a meal which was not the best but edible! The views from the apartment were amazing and despite being a bit unfortunate with the weather, the whole setting is beautiful. The owners sent us emails with really clear directions and the information they provided regarding local attractions and places to visit was really helpful to us as this was our first time in Cornwall. The owners did not bother us at all during our stay but we knew how to contact them if we had needed to. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment and if we ever venture back to Cornwall we would be happy to stay here again.

  • "Renter has no control over the heating."

Cold early in the morning and when we had got wet one evening. Limited opening hours for the swimming pool would gave been useful to know in advance.

Thank you for staying at the Penthouse and sharing your feedback with us. The heating currently comes on at 6.00am and regulates the temperature throughout the day however, we will certainly monitor the situation to see if an earlier time is preferable. The swimming pool is owned by Kenegie Manor Holiday Park and they do vary their opening hours depending on peak or off-peak times however, we are more than pleased to answer any enquiries made prior to arrival. We are sorry if any of these issues impacted on the enjoyment of your stay. Property Owner

  • "The apartment was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed, and a lot of things we though we didn't."

The welcome hamper was fantastic, even down to the pint of fresh milk left for us in the fridge, and with tea and coffee in the hamper, we could gave a welcomed cuppa after the long drive. All in all excellent. Thank you.

  • "The directions to the property provided by Sykes were not accurate in contrast to those given in an email from the owner which were fine."

Sykes said that takeover time was 3pm whereas the owner said it was 4pm. In the event it was ready by 3pm after I had explained the situation to the owner. Operating the TV was a nightmare.Kept getting ' no signal ' and it took an age to get anything. We went in mid May and the restaurant does not open until 6pm so no chance of even a sandwich on arrival. The nearest facilities are a mile away. At the end of May the restaurant is open all day. On the plus side, the owners left the most generous welcome pack we have ever had and they met us on arrival to help carry our bags up the 30 steps to the penthouse. The manor is in glorious countryside and was a perfect base for exploring this part of Cornwall. We had a marvelous holiday.

About the location

GULVAL

Penzance 1.5 miles.

Gulval is a village in the former Penwith district of Cornwall. Although historically a parish in its own right, Gulval was incorporated into the parishes of Penzance, Madron and Ludgvan in 1934, and like Heamoor, is now considered to be a suburb of Penzance. Gulval, however, still maintains its sense of charm and parts of the village church date back to the 12th century. Other features in the village include the 1910 granite drinking fountain in the centre of the square and the Coldstreamer Inn, allegedly one of the oldest. A charming collection of Victorian houses and cottages are also dotted around what was the village square. Why not wander into the centre of Penzance, appreciated for its abundance of palm trees and gardens full of sub-tropical plants, a sure sign that you have arrived somewhere unique. Also people can visit the surfing beaches of Sennen Cove, Porthcurno. Placed of interedt would also be Minack Theatre, St Michaels mount, Poldark country, Mousehile etc making great days out to enjoy

Note: Maximum 3 adults, 1 child and 1 infant; this property cannot accept more than 3 adults.
