  • "We had a wonderful time."

Gordon and his famil made us so welcome. We wish we had booked for two weeks instead of one. We will definitely be back to stay there again next year and for 2 weeks then. We would recommend the cottage to everyone but not on the weeks that we want to be there.

  • "The cottage itself is very nice and large, would easily suit a family or 2 couples."

Each bedroom has a tv and there is a large tv in living room. Lovely having en suite to one of double bedrooms and main bathroom large spa bath. The mattress in the back bedroom definitely needs changing, very lumpy and uncomfortable. Also but smell, not sure if this was the mattress or the duvet, also the covers on duvet had been washed but very creased, just let it down a bit. We had a problem when the electric sockets and lights went off. Spoke to Gordon and luckily enough the managed to get hold of an electrician to come and check it over he said it was the pump on the boiler, Gordon then had to find a plumber and again he found one who could repair it. Gordon also gave us some free range Eggs from the farm which my husband said were really nice. There is nothing around for about 15 minutes drive, very difficult to find as Sat Nav took us to another address and luckily enough the owner told us where to find Honeysuckle Cottage. One track roads all around, but for walkers it’s ideal

  • "Had a lovely relaxing week at Honeysuckle Cottage, Although in the middle of nowhere which was a godsend, places Like Bude, Exeter, Dartmoor, Tintagel Castle were all well within an hour drive, IT was very quiet while there bar the 7."

30 wake up of the Cockerell but what do you expect on a non working farm in the countryside. The spa bath was a godsend after walking a lot during the day and the fast BT 5G broadband was ideal for our firestick managed to get 88mbs. Thank you to the owners for posting back the remote to the firestick after we left it there. I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage.

Lovely quiet location, good WiFi and TV signal, easy access to north and south coast as well as Cornwall

  • "The cottage is lovely and has some real luxury items like a Jacuzzi bath but then is missing smaller things like a cafeteria, can opener, blinds at bedroom windows, hair dryer."

If these things could be added it would be even better. Very off the beaten track and quiet.

  • "The property was a tasteful, well thought out barn conversion with private enclosed rear garden."

There was more than adequate storage space with plenty of suitable equipment for a self catering holiday. The only thing missing was hand towels for the bathrooms and any blinds on the skylights in two of the bedrooms. The property was clean and comfortable. A quiet and remote location approximately 2 miles off the main road, with nothing in the immediate area so have to be prepared to use the car and travel further afield. Would recommend for anyone wanting a quiet holiday.

  • "This is the best barn conversion I’ve ever been in."

The space has been used perfectly inside and so well appointed for a holiday let. I felt like it had everything we needed! It is perfectly peaceful and quiet with only the sounds of the owls roosting here at night. Perfect for dog owners with three paths to walk from the cottage, a fully enclosed garden and a hose to wash them down. Also you’d never know there were dogs in here as it was so clean :) Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again!

  • "We loved this cottage."

It was very relaxing and it had everything that you would need in a normal week at home. Mr Davis, the owner, is a very friendly man and very helpful. We would definitely book this cottage again.

  • "Very helpful, friendly and obliging owner on site."

Postcode given ( being out in the countryside ) not that specific in that it takes you to another property about half a mile a way but that is Sat Nav technology for you .... persevere though. If you approach one way you get to the cottage before the Sat Nav agrees !! Approaching the other way you stop short ......... !! After you find it you learn to ignore the Sat Nav !!

  • "Previous visitors left dirty crockery and cutlery in dishwasher, dishwasher wasn’t working, the decor is in need of refreshing/re-painting."

All skirting boards, door frames and doors needs painting, only primer paint done, walls are in need of re-painting, windows filthy and need cleaning. Very basic kitchen utensils, kitchen tap dripping all of the time, bed linen clean but not ironed. The bedroom with en suite infested with flies around the windows, question are they bred to feed the spiders in the cottage in the cobwebs? On the plus side, excellent water power in the en suite shower, sadly the grime and mould around the shower cubicle where the glass rests on the tray is rather off putting. Centrally located for visiting lots of places in Devon.

Thank you for your feedback in regards to your stay at Honeysuckle Cottage. We are sorry to hear that you found dirty dishes in the dishwasher, this has been overlooked by the cleaner due to the dishwasher breaking. The owner did provide you with a fresh dinner set for you to use for your stay and resolved the dishwasher issues after you vacated. Regrettably, due to the time of year spiders and flies are a common thing if you leave the windows of the property open, there is nothing we can do to help this unfortunately. As we going into the off season, we can now find the time to resolve any of the maintenance issues that can't be completed on changeover, such as the painting and the shower cubicle. We hope you still enjoyed your stay at Honeysuckle Cottage. Property Owner

Although it rained every day we have a wonderful holiday and the cottage offered a welcoming and warm homecoming on such days. There is also a jacuzzi installed and I'm not sure if this was mentioned in the glossary relating to the property. If not I believe it should be. It's an added bonus.
