Location: East Taphouse

Liskeard 5 miles; Looe 9 miles.

The small village of East Taphouse is located on the A390 in the heart of the beautiful Cornish countryside, perfectly situated for exploring all that Cornwall and Devon have to offer. Located between the historic market towns of Liskeard to the east and the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel to the west, there is also easy access to the picturesque old fishing ports of Looe, Polperro and Fowey and many spectacular sandy beaches and coves on the south coast, whilst the rugged and dramatic Bodmin Moor is just 10 minutes to the north. Close by is the brilliant Eden Project along with the magnificent Lost Gardens of Heligan and many National Trust properties such as Lanhydrock and Mount Edgecombe houses. Bodmin steam railway and the tall ship harbour at Charlestown are also nearby and well worth a visit. Further afield, Plymouth is only a 30 minute drive away as is the windswept northern coastline, with Padstow, Newquay, Tintagel and anywhere from Dartmoor to Lands End all accessible for an enjoyable day out.

Previous visitors' comments about Orchard Cottage:

The cottage was an ideal base for visiting all the known and unknown places in Devon and Cornwall. Plus the cottage was ideal for dog owners as it had a fair sized paddock at the back. After our last visit 15-20 years ago it was nice to revisit Cornwall.
Mr Mullen, Woking, September 2011

The cottage was in a nice quite location with a good outlook to rear of property.
Mrs Coke, Wellingborough, September 2011

I thought the cottage was just great as a base for everywhere in Cornwall. Fabulous for dogs too. Lovely welcome with milk, basic refreshments, very good parking and in an extremely quiet area. Generally one of the best self catering holidays for a long time!
Mrs Walton, Shipston-on-Stour, August 2011

This was the 2nd year we had been to this cottage which speaks for itself. Friendly owners, good location and ideal for our 2 dogs - the cottage was somewhere you could live permanently!
Mr Fairweather, Billericay, June 2011
