Location: East Taphouse

Liskeard 5 miles; Looe 9 miles.

The small village of East Taphouse is located on the A390 in the heart of the beautiful Cornish countryside, perfectly situated for exploring all that Cornwall and Devon have to offer. Located between the historic market towns of Liskeard to the east and the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel to the west, there is also easy access to the picturesque old fishing ports of Looe, Polperro and Fowey and many spectacular sandy beaches and coves on the south coast, whilst the rugged and dramatic Bodmin Moor is just 10 minutes to the north. Close by is the brilliant Eden Project along with the magnificent Lost Gardens of Heligan and many National Trust properties such as Lanhydrock and Mount Edgecombe houses. Bodmin steam railway and the tall ship harbour at Charlestown are also nearby and well worth a visit. Further afield, Plymouth is only a 30 minute drive away as is the windswept northern coastline, with Padstow, Newquay, Tintagel and anywhere from Dartmoor to Lands End all accessible for an enjoyable day out.

The cottage was perfect for our needs and exceeded all of our expectations.

Very relaxing and comfortable stay. Would recommend to friends.
Mrs Wright, Blackpool, August 2012

The accommodation and host were smashing, we needed for nothing. Central location in a quiet village was a perfect setting providing a base for the sort of roving holiday we had planned.
Mr Tucker, Fleet, June 2012

We particularly liked the cottage, the area of East Taphouse and the easy access to other resorts. The Eden Project is well worth a visit. The facilities for my German Shepherd were good, plus the welcome food, mat and chews left by the owner along with the flowers and a bottle of apple juice were a very nice touch. The cottage is like being at home and as the weather was a little up and down the heating system being left on was a great help to my elderly parents. The property being on one level and having easy access was also a factor in my choice, all of my expectations were met and my parents loved it. Would consider returning and have already passed details and photos on to friends and family. Excellent.
