  • "Great Place to stay."

we will be Back next year

  • "Great location and we enjoyed our stay."

Just to make it perfect you could add a large mirror close to the electrical sockets in the main bedroom, so people can do their hair etc. Appreciate the difficulty finding a sofa to fit but the existing one could do with replacing. This one is personal preference, and totally respect that you can’t please all of the people all of the time, but we would have preferred not to have the dining table and chairs, in favour of more comfortable seating (was a real squeeze on that sofa!). Great stay though and, again, amazing location.

  • "We were surprised, in a good way, to find there was a small single bedroom."

We had assumed that since there was no photo bedroom three was the sitting room. We found the fridge very small and think that some space in kitchen could be given over to a larger fridge. We also missed having a washing machine as with small children we get through a fair bit of dirty clothes. Other than that this was a great house in a very convenient and quiet location next to the beach.

  • "We knew the property was going to be small, the beds were comfortable."

The house was clean on the surface but not when we had to pull things out to look for a lost phone. Under the sofa cushions and under the sofa was filthy. The patio area was also not swept so had leaves everywhere. It had the tiniest half fridge which was not atall large enough for six people. It also has room for a full size dishwasher but there is only a half size one. If you are going to market it for six people, it needs to have the facilities for six people. There were also mice in the kitchen which we let the caretaker know about.

Liked the new decking so good to see investment happening. Efficient and good communications

  • "We had a lovely time at Tidewood, perfect location for the beach."

It’s quite a cute little cottage with very comfy beds and all the amenities you need for a self catering holiday. Would definitely recommend and love to return.

  • "The interior of the cottage was very small and cramped certainly not suitable for 6 people."

There was only just enough room to facilitate 4 people in the lounge area either to eat or watch TV. The bedrooms were as described with the double bedroom situated at the front of the ground floor cottage. The only problem with that was that if the toilet was needed during the night one had to negotiate the lounge and kitchen areas to get to the bathroom which was situated towards the rear of the premises. The furnishings were basic and in need of replacement particularly the dining table. The private patio at the rear is just a small yard bereft of daylight. The only positive thing I can say about the property is its location, less than 5 minutes walk to the beach and the centre of Polzeath although one has to negotiate a ford across the unmade lane just yards from the premises. I would not book this place again.

  • "The cottage was a little hard to find down a very unmade road and the parking space was snug to say the least!"

The cottage was immaculately clean and well presented but lacked a washing machine. Wifi was good but TV channels limited. The mattress on the double bed was rock hard, which didn't suit us, so we had to cover it with a duvet to be comfortable. The noise at night from other people was substantial as the cottage is directly on the "road", luckily the kids were in the bunk room at the back and were not disturbed. The proximity to the beach is definitely this property's best feature. We were 2 adults and 2 children and I doubt you could comfortably fit more people in. The decking area at the rear of the house could do with some TLC, it was not really possible to use it as it's constantly covered in debris from the over hanging trees. Overall a pleasant stay.

  • "Great location for being able to walk to the beach, I did check my car every day just to make sure no one had caught it when passing by plus the guy opposite tried to reverse out of the drive towards my car, seriously!"

but there wasn’t any problems. I would recommend people with children put them in the front bedroom as visitors going home to the camp site were a little noisy in the early hours and children can sleep through almost anything

  • "We had a wonderful stay at this quirky cottage."

The location is amazing and the facilities are adequate for 4 but wouldn’t want 6 people in there, even the dining table only sits 4. The only issue is the parking, it’s advertised as ‘off road’ which is a slight exaggeration. We have a brand new car and literally cringed every time a car squeezed past. One other tiny thing - the brightly coloured card stickers ie WiFi code, really cheapen the place, perhaps a booklet with vital info would look more professional. We would definitely return as these are small things and our car will be older then

  • "Accommodation small."

Suitable for no more than 2 adults. Expected at least a bar of soap and washing up liquid especially as expected to leave the place clean and tidy and strip the bedding. Very basic but located close to a very nice beach.

  • "It may sleep 6 but it only seats 4 people on settees and only 4 chairs round table."

We had to wash down a chair from outside. It’s really too small for 5 people let alone 6.

  • "We had a lovely week staying in Tidewood."

The cottage is in the perfect location for the beach and the coastpath. Parking right outside makes things easy. We had a problem with the oven on the first night but this was dealt with very efficiently by the owners and the caretaker. I do think the kitchen needs a few more utensils I.e. Sieve/colander, scissors, cheese grater. The house was nicely furnished and a comfortable place to be. We would stay here again.

  • "For a surfer or Walker this accommodation is in a excellent location very near the beach, coastal path, shop, casmachine, restaurants and the Tubestation which serve excellent food."

The bedsare very comfortable. There is a little enclosed patio were you can sit out and wet close can be hang to dry. We were 5 adults going to a wedding and needed an ironing and hair dryer these things are not there but Lee who look after the place kindly lents us that. There are no beautiful views from the window other than you can see people going past. Lounge and dining area are a little tight for 5 adults. But we spent most time out and about. It is s good little cottage for the price we pay and if we were to go back to polzeath we would be happy to rent it again.

  • "Ideal location very close to beach and spar shop so ideal for those who like surfing."

Would have liked some leaflets in the property of local places to visit although still being winter places would still be closed for the season. Ideal for those who like walking as public foot path starts just a few yards away and offers wonderful views across the beach. Ample parking for one car at front of property. Access along a rough track with lots of huge pot holes which someone ought to fill in however it stops anyone racing along there so with children that is a good thing. There is a small shallow stream outside the property only a few inches deep but our kids couldn't resist getting wet feet every time they went near it All in all enjoyed it and owners kept in touch with the occasional text message and were very nice. Unfortunately I had no signal on my mobile in the area and had to go outside the village if I needed to use my phone. Would I go again? Certainly.
