Already booked for next year! Comfortable, clean cottage with very well equipped kitchen. Parking for two cars, cottage is within a very short walk of all pubs and restaurants, all of which allow dogs in. Small garden is the only drawback, but then we go on holiday to walk and visit places, not sit in the garden! Wi fi if you need it and a nice TV in the comfortable lounge. Welcome pack is a nice touch and the voucher for the Italian restaurant across the road, ( for returning guests I understand) , was most appreciated. We ate there twice and recommend it. The Wootons's Inn and Tintagel Arms Hotel also highly recommended.

  • "This was an amazing property with everything you could ask for including the welcome gifts which were a lovely gesture so thank you for those, the teenagers especially liked the fridge having the ice dispenser who knew that's all I needed to keep them happy."

The garage door wouldn't open on its own from the front it took someone working it from inside the garage and someone outside to get the door open. My one issue would be that with the beautiful conservatory the back garden was very small and the photo was slightly deceptive about the size of the garden. Everyone was really friendly although apart from the pubs, takeaway options did have some limits which we found on our first night that you had to order during the day for takeaway for the Italian restaurant, the chip shop didn't open until the day after we left and the takeaway near the Spar closed at 8.30pm but stopped taking orders at 8pm. All in all I can really recommend a stay at Tintagel at Jack's Mews there is so much to see and do without having to travel too far.

  • "A lovely touch when we arrived with fudge and biscuits."

It was a shame that the arrival time on our paperwork (3pm) was different from that shown at the property (4pm) which meant we had to wait an hour to gain access. We also found it difficult to understand the actual procedures for disposing of recycling materials and rubbish which we not clear in the owners' handbook. Nevertheless this shouldn't detract from a superb and well maintained property. It was our first booking with Sykes and we were impressed with their service.

  • "We had a lovely week at Jacks Mews."

The welcome pack was nice and unexpected. The location of the holiday cottage was perfect, as we enjoy the costal walks around Tintagel and surrounding areas. It was nice to come back after a long walk to relax in the cosy lounge and conservatory. It was disappointing however to discover the cost increase of £250 for next year, for the same week, which we think is rather excessive, as we were looking to re-book Jacks Mews. The house has been nicely finished and we didn't want for anything. Minor niggles with quality of pillows and comfort of double mattress which sagged a little. Not showstoppers. The oven really was fine (see other reviews) if you followed instructions with the door shut. Some local recommendations (other than walks) would have been useful. Trebarwith Strand is our suggestion for others - body boarding, life guards, parking & pub!

Has everything you could want. My only negative comment (that’s not really negative) is the oven was complicated to use but we mastered it in the end. Great touch with the welcome pack too, didn’t expect it but was very much appreciated. Will be booking the same house again. Suggest leaving a note in the property that the washer and dryer are in the garage - we were on the verge of ringing Sykes to complain they were not there ! Agree with some reviews that the oven was complex to use. Suggest the owners do a "Quick Start" to instruct how to do basic oven functions. We managed to work it out though! No suitable mirror near plug sockets in both main and ensuite bedrooms. Not much hanging space for clothes. Overall though, a very comfortable and very well equipped property. Would thoroughly recommend.

Only 2 of us but a lovely well equipped holiday home. The property is ideal for a base for touring the north of Cornwall ideal location with Tintagel on the door step. The view from the property not fantastic overlooking a car park but very quiet and absolutely not a problem for the holiday good parking out side the house which is very handy. If your staying here try the Cornish Bakery it’s amazing. The property easily accommodate 6 ita a good size. I was worried about the oven after reading other reviews but well not simple just lift the laminate instructions off the side and it’s pretty simple after 10 minutes. A main bathroom, an en suite and a downstairs WC not mentioned in listing, no mirror in the main bedroom, kitchen appliances far too complicated to the point we gave up trying, no real garden to speak if which is unusual in such a property. The duvet on the double was beyond thin and could do with a replacement, conservatory needs a good clean to rid of numerous cobwebs and flies before each guest arrives too.

  • "Easy parking and in the middle of Tintagel so convenient for pubs and restaurants."

House was clean and big enough for six people, although strangely the breakfast bar only sits four. Instructions for operating the Smeg oven were conveniently attached to the side of the appliance. Might have struggled otherwise! Overall a bit expensive, but with all the staycationers this year that's to be expected.

  • "An exceptionally comfortable and well equipped house with plenty of space."

The only things I would like to be easier would be a much more straightforward oven (the instructions were good but the method to use it were really over complicated), and summerweight duvets would be good, not 13.5tog in August in an already very warm house.

About the location

TINTAGEL

Camelford 5.9 miles; Wadebridge 13 miles.

Tintagel, home of the legendary King Arthur’s Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just outside the village, is a popular but not overcrowded tourist destination. The surrounding area is dominated by the sea, rocky coves and stunning scenery. Several beaches, including nearby Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are within easy reach and surfing is the main attraction for those who love the water. Tintagel has several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office (National Trust) is a must. For the energetic, the SW Coast Path passes through the village and in both directions it winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water’s edge through dramatic countryside. Head north along the path and in 2.5 miles is the beautiful village of Boscastle with its quaint quay and village pubs for refreshment. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary and Port Isaac are all within a 40-minute drive.
