St Columb Major 1.5 miles.
This delightful terraced cottage is beautifully located in the idyllic, quiet Cornish village of Talskiddy, a short drive from Mawgan Porth and the market town of St Columb Major.
You enter into the comfortable sitting room which is full of character; the centrepiece being the large fireplace with woodburner and original clome oven, a really cosy room for the cooler evenings out of season.
With beams throughout, the charm carries through to the dining and kitchen area, which leads out to the garden and patio which has a barbecue for alfresco dining.
The vegetable and herb garden at the front of the cottage is there for your use, and you are welcome to help yourself accordingly.
The stairs from the dining area lead you to the three bedrooms and a bathroom with a lovely deep, freestanding bath, perfect to relax in after a day on the beach.
Talskiddy is one of the smallest villages in Cornwall, the only facilities being a red telephone box and a Victorian postbox.
The village is one of the few in the county with a village green and also has a duck pond, known by the locals as 'the harbour'.
Less than two miles away is the ancient town of St Columb Major, which has all the facilities you could need including pubs, takeaways, a supermarket, two award-winning butchers’, both famous for their pasties, and a wonderful 15th century church.
With the well-known attractions and beaches of Rock, Polzeath and Padstow within easy reach there will always be plenty to do here, and great countryside walks start from your doorstep.
Mawgan Porth is a must visit, less than five miles away, with its large sheltered, dog-friendly, sandy beach that sits at the bottom of steep cliffs and offers acres of soft white sand, rock pools, caves and magical sunsets.
There is a pub, café and shops opposite the beach, whilst a short stroll will take you to one of Cornwall's finest restaurants at one of its top hotels, The Scarlet, for something special.
The cliff walking is magnificent here, with the famous Watergate Bay the next bay that you will reach on the path towards Newquay.
