  • "We had a great week at 2 Riverside Cottage, a lovely, well equipped presented ..."

We had a great week at 2 Riverside Cottage, a lovely, well equipped presented property, in fact one of the best we have stayed at with a perfect rear garden/small patio area we enjoyed, as did our dog - Ideally situated for touring the beautiful areas of St Ives, Marazion, Penzance Portreath etc - plenty of car parking space for one car - we are hoping to return next year

  • "Lovely cottage, well laid out, clean and comfortable, a fully equipped kitchen and a great bathroom with a lovely hot shower."

We enjoyed our week immensely. The heating was very efficient as this was needed for the chilly evenings. My only negative, and only a small negative, was the main bed, mattress was a little too hard for me but that is only my personal preference. It certainly did not stop me sleeping well after busy days out exploring. I would also add that we would happily revisit in the future as we love Cornwall so much and the cottage is in a great location. The garden was brilliant for the our 2 dogs and they loved to explore both the front and rear garden. I would highly recommend this cottage to friends and family.

  • "Great location easy access."

Lovely spacious open plan upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped. Spacious bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Bedrooms are on the small side only one wardrobe for both bedrooms. None of the interior doors shut, you can see this has been an issue for a long time as the floor has scuff marks. The bedrooms are downstairs which is fine but it did smell musky and damp. Cleanliness is poor, so I would suggest a deep clean and wash all soft furnishings.

  • "The Accommodation downstairs bedrooms are very small, the double has no wardrobe as not enough room, the twin is very small, upstairs is more spacious but for 4 adults unfortunately we had to take it in turns to who would sit on the dining room chair as only a 2 seater sofa and one lounge chair, a second small lounge chair could fit and would make it more comfortable, but our main concern was the cleanliness the floors were filthy, especially in the bathroom, also the kitchen window had cobwebs and all in the air vent so had not been cleaned for ages!"

we had to get rid of all the cobwebs and spiders from the walls/ceilings in bedroom before we could sleep in there, these had been there a long while so they need to get the place properly cleaned not just a quick wipe of sinks, fridge etc sound like we are moaners but if they sorted these issues it would be a nice place to stay and takes a lot for us to complain!

The external doors were a little stuff so we worried if they would break. The shower is amazing, really powerful. The cottage is situated in a good area as it isnt far from the popular destinations. Brilliant cottage.

Clean and tidy. They left us some tea, coffee, biscuits and a bottle of processeco. We had a wonderful time. They need to put a new mattress on the main bed. There was a mattress topper on but a new mattress would be better.

  • "The cottage was lovely, with a brilliant log fire, spacious kitchen and decent bathroom!"

The beds in the second bedroom weren't made up when we got there (we soon made them up), but when we reported that a couple of days later, along with the fact the dishwasher had stopped working, the owners sent someone out to make the beds (they said they hadn't been made aware there were 4 people staying) and a new dishwasher was ordered and delivered less than 48 hours later. We really can't fault the service we recieved, and the owners went above and beyond to ensure our stay was faultless. The only criticism, and it is only a small one, was that the bed in the main bedroom was quite hard. We really enjoyed our stay there though, and wouldn't hesitate to go back if we're in that area!

  • "We had a lovely week at 2 Riverside Cottage, the owners were kind enough to accept an extra pooch for a small extra fee."

The welcome pack was perfect everything you needed to get started and then some. Everything was clean and comfortable, the log burner was fantastic and the boiling water tap is a game changer (already looking into one for home). There is only one small issue we had, which wouldn't be a problem for most of the year, when they iced over the steps up to the garden were very slippy and there is nothing to hold onto for support. We would definitely book to stay here again.

Cottage perfect for us and the log burner such a bonus despite mild weather for October (just wanted to use it) Gardens back and front would be well used from Spring onwards. Parking driveway perfect. We will be going to Riverside again despite 6hr journey... which actually passed quickly.

  • "Lovely property and the location was excellent for accessing many places we wanted to visit by bus or car."

The property had everything we needed. The only thing that was a little disappointing, is the back garden as it wasn't secure for our dog, which meant we couldn't allow him out there or sit at the back ourselves. There are some gaps he would have been able to get through. This meant we sat out at the front, which was a nice area but not as private. We really appreciated the cream tea on arrival.

A couple of spare pillows would have been nice? We weren’t sure how the recycling works. Every local council seems to have a different plan! Need extra clarity around arrival time. Very well equipped. Great location for visiting the southern tip of England. Polite suggestions: Could do with some cushions on the lounge suite. • "Please see copy of email send during our stay of which I still have not received any reply from yourselves."

We have been thrilled with our accommodation and would have recommend to family and friends, even considering rebooking ourselves for next year however I'm afraid we have had our stay interrupted on 3 consective days. Apparently maintenance work was needed to be carried out and a builder turned up on Wednesday morning and has been here each morning since at 9:15am replacing a window and roof! I am somewhat disappointed and surprised that at no point have we been informed that this was going to take place during our stay and this morning a member of our family was unwell and woken with the noise. Although we understand that sometimes urgent maintenance work is necessary we have been disappointed to arrive at the property with scaffolding up and a two builders present for part of our holiday without any prior notification and having paid full seasonal price for a relaxing week in Cornwall and having to clear debris and some small pieces of glass from the living room floor on returning yesterday. The builder has been very pleasant and is at no fault. I would appreciate if someone could contact myself to discuss further.
