  • "Lovely property, we really enjoyed staying here."

The open plan kitchen living area was comfortable and nice to spend an evening in whilst the kids are in bed. We would definitely come again. My only very minor suggestion is that is would have been nice to have been given a few dishwasher tablets and some washing powder.

  • "I called to make this booking and the lady who booked the property was very helpful."

The property was really well situated, had fabulous views and felt clean. Phil the owner came by soon after our arrival and was very friendly. A couple of things... There were no dishwasher tablets (1 or 2 to get us started would have been good) and only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper in each toilet. We also agreed with other reviews that it could of been better stocked with glasses, crockery and cutlery. Also there was no info folder about local places to visit, local restaurants and takeaways which would have been helpful. Despite this though we definitely would return - we hope this is taken as constructive feedback that will be helpful not a complaint as we really loved our time at this property. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Hawthorn Cottage. As with all self-catering properties a starter amount of essentials will be provided for the first night but the expectation is that you will stock up with your own essentials thereafter. The kitchen is stocked with crockery and cutlery for six people. Outside the cottage there is a tourist information cupboard stocked with leaflets and information about local attractions which the Owner mentions when welcoming guests at the beginning of their stay. • "The owners of these properties are exceptional hosts."

They strive to offer complete extension of the high standard set by their own living. The properties are fully equipped and require little else and offer a better standard than the local 5* hotel(where we have also stayed) its a very quite retreat. You need your car to get supplies. access to all the local spots is easy once you have mastered the local area. Did not want to leave ! and will be back. First class and would recommend to anyone who asked us.

  • "The house was lovely, but could have been better equipped."

For example, there were only 6 of everything in the kitchen, which is minimal when a dishwasher is provided. Also, there were no comfortable chairs for use in the garden, or any games, cards etc which many other holiday homes provide.

  • "The location of this beautiful upside down house was just perfect."

The house itself was clean, cosy and just a lovely home from home. Couldn’t be happier with the choice. Will use Sykes again as I found it really easy to find what I wanted.

The cottage itself was beautiful, very clean, well equipped and set in the most peaceful surroundings. The layout of the cottage was perfect taking advantage of the lovely views. This was a perfect choice for our family and we will definitely be returning.
