  • "This house is amazing but the pictures do not do it justice."

We all enjoyed the wonderful welcome tray. It was spotlessly clean and furnished with high quality furnishings. The kitchen has lovely modern appliances. The bedrooms are big with very comfy beds. The dogs enjoyed the well enclosed garden. Laura was very helpful and thinks of everything you could possibly need. We can highly recommend staying at Boswynn. We are already trying to book for next year.

The pictures don’t do justice to how new and modern the house is and the cleanliness was impeccable. Had a great week and was looked after by Laura who kept us up to date with the weather while we were out which was a nice touch. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in a nice part of the country with access to all the tourist attractions.

The dogs enjoyed the garden which was very secure. Was very grateful for the welcome pack of bread butter jam biscuits tea and coffee even treats for the dogs. Close to beaches but you do need a car to get around as lanes are very narrow for walking. All in all we had a very enjoyable few days and the weather couldn’t have been better.

Down side the toilet seat down stairs didn't seat very square to the toilet bowl, but not a major problem, you need to be aware that access was up a really narrow lane, with a very tight turn into the lane.

4 adults, 2 of whom were my elderly parents. A lovely looking house from the outside with a driveway for 2 cars, a lovely front garden and a well kept back garden with lots of colourful borders and its perfectly safe for Dogs. Inside the property is just perfect, a lovely new kitchen diner that is spotlessly clean with a little utility area just off it with a downstairs toilet. A comfortable living room with a log burner if it gets chilly, ample seating and a nice size TV. Upstairs the bathroom just like the rest of the house is spotless, a powerful shower over a lovely bath. 3 comfortable bedrooms with lots of hanging space and storage between them and lovely views from the windows. Apart from speaking with Laura the owner prior to our arrival via phone and email I didn't actually meet her until the morning we left to drop off the keys so being neighbours with the owner had zero impact on our holiday. Tregorrick is a peaceful place with all shops/supermarkets that you need just a very short drive away. It really does tick all the boxes for a perfect stay.

The only thing that potential clients should know is that the road leading to the cottage is "extremely narrow" being single track and "restricted access." This is not mentioned on the Sykes Site. Apart from that top notch!

Thank you for your comments. We are glad to hear your positive comments on the property. Unfortunately, there is little we can do about the access to the property and this is part of the charm of the West Country. Whilst the lane leading to the property is single track, it is regularly used by a variety of vehicles including supermarket delivery vans, courier companies as well as by local residents. We hope this did not impact on your stay too much. Property Owner

  • "The accommodation exceeded our expectations it was spotlessly clean and had all the mod cons in the kitchen."

The host was warm and friendly she got in contact before the holiday and greeted us on the day. We were left a welcome tray of tea, coffee, biscuits, bread, milk and butter which was a nice gesture. We used the house as a base to travel around Cornwall. My comment below is something for Helpful holidays to take forward and not a reflection on our host. My only complaint would be more towards the information our host was provided from Helpful Holidays on recycling. I am no eco warrier but like to do my bit recycling at home and when went away during the pandemic to Wales last year (booked through Helpful Holidays holidays) recycling was strongly encouraged. In the information pack we received we were advised to "bag up all rubbish - all rubbish of any kind, including items you would normally recycle like glass, cardboard etc. should be placed in tied black bin bags" - Please place all rubbish in the bin provided, please put tied up rubbish sacks in the large refuse bins in the outside lean to at the rear of the garage. At the moment all rubbish of any kind should be placed in tied up black bin bags, even item you would normally recycle. We checked with the host and was told there is no food or other recycling and to put everything in the black bin as advised in the information pack as this is what she was told to do by Helpful Holidays. Bin day was on the day we left and we saw that other households had plastic recycling etc outside their homes so I could not understand why there was no recycling for the property we stayed in Covid or not. We did drive around a few of the supermarkets to see if we could dispose of our recycling but ended up taking it home with us which was not ideal but I could not have it going to a landfill. Visitors should be encouraged to recycle the same way as the district they are visiting so why is the information Helpful Holidays Holidays give is different to the advice from Helpful Holidays. (sad face)!

Thank-you for your feedback regarding the refuse/recycling arrangements at Boswynn.  Firstly we apologise for the inconvenience and frustration this has clearly caused you. Whilst we ask our guests to bag up all their rubbish in tied black bin bags, we now use a waste contractor that collects, then sorts, all of the waste at their local recycling facility, 0% of which goes to landfill.  Any waste/rubbish from self-catering holiday accommodation is classified as commercial waste.  The local council has made it clear that self-catering holiday accommodation is not permitted to use the household/kerbside collection that you saw local residents using on the day you left; this is for domestic residents only.  Since your feedback we have amended our information pack to explain this more clearly to future guests.  We apologise for not explaining this to you before/during your stay. Due to Covid-19 we are specific in our information pack about guests tying up and moving all their rubbish from inside the property into the outside bins provided.  This is because we want to protect ourselves as much as possible during the changeover process, by not having to directly touch and sort someone else's rubbish.  We hope this explains why our instructions regarding rubbish are so explicit at the moment, we will of course keep them under review. The property was spotlessly clean and there was a nice arrival pack when we got there with all the essential food items that we required. This is a very dog friendly property, the rear garden is of a good size and perfectly secure so that your dog is safe at all times. The property was Covid safe, there was hand sanitizer at the front door and in the property. There are signs telling you what to do in the case of falling ill. The location of the property is good for many days out in Cornwall with many just a short drive away. The owners live next door but they are not intrusive in any way but are on hand if any concerns arise. We would certainly recommend this property and hope to return again, it went a very long way to an enjoyable holiday.

It was good to meet the owner, Laura, when we arrived and to be shown around by her. She is to hand if needed, but was at pains to say she would not disturb us otherwise. The garden is safe and secure for dogs and the access via the back door is good for muddy paws. The community fields are within a few metres of the property and a lovely place to walk, with access to longer walks from them if desired. Our two border collies really enjoyed themselves here. About the location

ST. AUSTELL

Charlestown 2 miles; Carlyon Bay 3 miles; Mevagissey 6 miles; Fowey 8 miles.

The old market town of St Austell, just a mile or two from the south coast, is famous as the historic centre of the china clay mining industry. Today, its many beaches and its sub-tropical gardens provide plenty to see and do. The wonderful Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are perfect for a family day out, and a little further afield Caerhays Castle provides a stunning backdrop to Porthluny Cove. On the edge of town, St Austell Brewery offers tours of the Victorian brewing equipment and a chance to sample the local beer, and for those looking for surf and sand, St Austell Bay has several beaches to choose from - Porthpean, Carlyon Bay, Pentewan, Polkerris - the last offering a variety of water-sports. As well as a small shingle beach, Charlestown, a pretty, historic port, often has wooden sailing ships in the harbour, and is popular as a film location. A little further afield are Fowey and its beautiful estuary to the east and the fishing port of Mevagissey to the west. With lots to do and something to keep the whole family entertained, St Austell is a great year-round destination.
