St. Austell 5.5 miles; Truro 16 miles.

The perfect Cornish fishing village, with winding cobbled streets and a harbour full of boats. Stunning walks lead along the coast in both directions, with sandy beaches, high cliffs and hidden coves to explore. The village has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, while just up the road are the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey also runs daily between Easter and September. Spend some time at the Tall Ships harbour at Charlestown (7 miles) with its shipwreck museum, or among the tropical biomes of the world famous Eden Project (11 miles). The stunning coastline, fabulous beaches and renowned gardens of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula are a short drive down the coast while Truro, with its shops, restaurants, theatre and cathedral can be reached by car in half an hour.

The Property

This one time fisherman's store is tucked away in a small courtyard, between the narrow main street and the picturesque harbour in the popular village of Mevagissey. This cosy Cornish holiday home has been furnished and decorated to a high standard, with some beams and other original features remaining, and an antique French bed and chandelier in one of the double rooms. The owners run the shop next door, and are on hand to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one. Take a short stroll to the harbour to watch the boats come in, sample the selection of shops, pubs and restaurants Mevagissey has to offer, or drive the short distance to attractions such as The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan or the stunning coastline, fabulous beaches and renowned gardens of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula. A superb maritime base for a truly Cornish experience.

Accommodation

Over three floors. Three bedrooms: 2 x double (one second floor, accessed via steep stairs), 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle, basin and WC. Fitted kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with beamed ceiling.

Amenities

Heating from electric storage heaters throughout. Electric cooker, fridge, microwave, washing machine, colour TV, DVD player. Electricity inc. in rent 1 May - 30 Sep (£20 per week supplement at other times). Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Parking space reserved in nearby public car park for guests’ sole use (approx. 500 yards from property). Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops and restaurants 2 mins walk. Pub opposite property. Note: Second floor double room accessed via steep stairs, therefore may not be suitable for young children or the less mobile.
