  • "The Cottage is like a home from home, comfortable, everything you need, immacutely clean and environmently friendly."

It was amazing looking out of the window each day at so many ducks, geese, and a red kite. It is so tranquil and peaceful, it was just what we needed. Thank you for an amazing stay we definetly will return in the New Year.

  • "The property is compact but well laid out so you have everything you need, including decent storage & is ideal for couples."

The working farm did not disturb us & was quieter than we expected! We enjoyed watching the many waterfowl on the lake directly opposite the cottage! The area has charming villages close by & lots of geocaching trails which was the reason for our stay! We did have a couple of issues but these were resolved quickly & feedback taken on board which is reassuring! Julia & Robert were ideal hosts, friendly & there if you needed them but left you alone to enjoy your holiday! We would definitely return again as we had a great week!

  • "The conservation ethos of the farm is admirable."

Views over the lake with ducks, geese. We also saw a hare one morning. The property was well prepared, clean and warm. The bed linen (with the rare and much appreciated provision of a top sheet) and the towels were of excellent quality. The shower room was spacious enough and the shower worked well. There is no dishwasher or microwave but neither is of importance to us. All in all an excellent stay and Roxhill Manor Farm is now on our list of "return to" cottages.

  • "It was a lovely place to stay, the views across the hillsides really do add to it."

there is also so much to do and I can imagine both curling up on the sofa and watching a good film there (Which are provided!!!) in the winter, or going for lovely summer walks across the fields. Everyone seemed very friendly but we were mostly left alone which was a very nice retreat. I should say thank you to the owners, the cottage was amazing!

Informed about what facilities were in the accommodation and how to use. Very lovely outlook across a lake with plenty of walks and things to do locally.

  • "Fantastic location overlooking a lake with ducks, ducklings and a resident heron."

Although the property was located on a busy farm during harvest, there were no disturbances from traffic, machinery or farm workers. Beautiful cottage, very clean and fully equipped. Lovely touches to welcome me, including wine, milk and home baked brownies. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend to others.

  • "Accommodation is in front of a car park."

It shares a front door W ith a tenant, who leaves for work early in the morning. The owners began work on the driveway on our first day; while we appreciated the flowers left for us acknowledging the inconvenience of this, there was noise most of the day from diggers and vehicles continually reversing outside our window. It was warm, and having the windows slightly open meant it was very noisy and far from relaxing. We appreciate it’s a working farm, but did not appreciate farm workers having a loud potty mouthed conversation outside our bedroom window at 5.45am. Bed was far too small for two average size adults.

  • "What a lovely place to stay, great walks for our dogs around the cottage for early morning and last thing at night."

The owners were really helpful and kind. The quality of the furnishings in the cottage were very good. I would not hesitate to recommend and will most certainly go again. The location while off the main road and being quiet, within a few minutes you can access the major routes to the main towns and forests.
