The small village of Ringstead is set in east Northamptonshire, in peaceful rolling countryside, just three miles from the town of Thrapston. Ringstead village offers good local amenities, which include two shops, a Post Office, a riverside tea room and two pubs, along with pretty ironstone cottages. Ringstead’s former sand and gravel pits have with the passing of time become Northamptonshire’s largest Pocket Park, with the Kinewell Lake Pocket Park and Local Nature Reserve offering wonderful lakes, which are set in 87 acres of land, and are rich with waterfowl, herons, kingfishers, and the occasional sighting of otters, along with picnic benches, a bird hide and permit only fishing. The River Nene passes alongside the village where you can enjoy watching the passing barges and riverboats, or you may wish to hire a boat at Willy Watt Marina. The attractive market town of Thrapston is just 3 miles away and offers a wider selection of shops. The rolling hills of the Northamptonshire countryside are ideal for cycling, walking, plus fishing is available in a number of lakes. Sports fans will love the proximity to Santa Pod Raceway, Rockingham Speedway, Silverstone motor racing circuit and Huntingdon Racecourse, whilst for a more sedate day out, why not spend some time visiting Rockingham Castle and Garden, Boughton House, Stanwick Lakes, Althorpe House, Sywell Aviation Museum and Hamerton Zoo Park which are all within easy driving distance.

Previous visitors' comments about Millstone Cottage:
The cottage was perfect for our family. There were lots of little touches that made it just a little bit nicer than your average holiday cottage. Lots of character and well finished. We loved the floor to ceiling windows in the living room and the view of the boats.
