Chippenham 5 miles; Malmesbury 6 miles.
The small North Wiltshire village of Upper Seagry is found in superb countryside only 5 miles north of the bustling market town of Chippenham, and 6 miles from the ancient town of Malmesbury. Close to the southern end of The Cotswolds, this rural location provides a great base from which to explore this fascinating area. There are ample footpaths and bridleways nearby, a visit to Malmesbury - with its 12th century Benedictine Abbey - is a must, whilst a trip to the Cotswold Water Park is a real treat. Westobirt Arboretum, with its extensive collection of trees and shrubs is not to be missed. Within an easy drive can be found the picturesque village of Castle Combe, also well known for its car racing track, and the quaint National Trust village of Lacock, used as the setting for the BBC TV serial Cranford. The impressive Roman city of Bath, Bowood House, and the ancient stone circle at Avebury are also easily accessible. This really is an excellent base for a relaxing and interesting break at any time of the year.

Previous visitors' comments about Farm View Cottage:
The situation of the cottage was great; private whilst affording easy access to main routes throughout the county. An outstanding attraction in the cottage was the wood-burning stove which when lit was really cosy and welcoming.

A quiet retreat not far from home. Very convenient for Malmesbury, Tetbury, Chippenham, Laycock, Cotswold Water Park, without having to use the M4. Warm welcome from the owners, and tour of the property and its facilities. Good local Inn with good food at sensible prices. Would certainly consider returning.
Mr Hobbs, Bristol, February 2012
It was lovely to come back to the cottage at the end of happy but tiring days. For the dogs, it was very convenient - good walks on the doorstop. The owners were so welcoming and had added festive touches which were much appreciated. All in all a cosy Christmas break.
Mrs Vanson, Towcester, December 2011
The cottage was superb especially as dog owners we normally don't get this standard. The owners were delightful and the welcoming apple pie was a lovely touch. We would highly recommend this cottage to friends and family. The log burner was fantastic on the chilly evenings with no restrictions on wood usage.
