Devizes 5 miles; Marlborough 11 miles.
The attractive village of All Cannings nestles at the foot of the gently rolling Wiltshire chalk downland, in the scenic Vale of Pewsey, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a community-run shop, and a popular local pub, The Kings Arms. The area is rich in ancient history, with examples of ancient earthworks, dotted with picturesque villages and home to two white horses carved into the chalk hillsides. In late summer, the area is also well known for the appearance of numerous crop circles! Winding its way along the valley is the beautifully restored Kennet and Avon Canal, providing peaceful walks along the tow-path, and a canal boat trip from the nearby market town of Devizes is a must. Within an easy drive is the impressive town of Marlborough, with one of England's widest high streets, and the stone circle at Avebury. How about a day trip to the magnificent cities of Salisbury and Bath, the Great Western Museum and shopping outlet at Swindon, or Longleat Safari Park all within easy reach. There's so much to do and see in this interesting area.

Previous visitors' comments about Prospect Cottage:
The cottage was very welcoming with a lovely homemade cake awaiting our arrival. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and comfortable. I would not hesitate to have another holiday there.

We loved the cake and tea tray awaiting our arrival. I'm recommending it to everyone already. The village and situation was perfect for us. The park/recreation ground opposite was an absolute blessing with the 2 year old!! We certainly hope to visit again [and with the fire in lounge, maybe in the winter time].
