  • "Warm and cosy although the bathroom needs a refit."

No shower but we knew that beforehand.

Hello Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry that you were disappointed with the bathroom and hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekend. Previous guests thought that a shower in there didn’t work so we had a new bathroom fitted 3 years ago with just a bath. All best wishes Anne and Andy Property Owner

The only downside is the bathroom as the sloping ceiling made it difficult to use and no shower attachment for hair washing. It's a long time since I washed my hair in the kitchen sink but it was the only way here

A small rear garden had a table and chairs and was ideal for enjoying the good weather. The view of the hills from the bedroom window was lovely. The off road car parking was a boon and big enough for our small car. The town has a good bus service as well as a railway station. It is unfortunate that there is no shower but height restrictions could make it difficult to fit one. The owner, Anne was very helpful when I phoned her. I would recommend this property.

    !

We're shocked and disappointed by this comment - when you thought the heating wasn't working even though the temperature at the thermostat was 22 degrees we advised you to check that all the radiators were turned up fully. The next day you texted to say that the heating was working well now, the cottage was toasty and you had even had to turn some radiators down. On NEW YEARS DAY when you told us that the dishwasher suddenly wasn't working ( with 4 nights of your 14 night stay remaining) we tried our best to help with suggestions and troubleshooting and apologised on more than one occasion. We explained that we could only have someone to look at the dishwasher after you had left, due to it being New Year's Day and bank holiday the day after etc. and mentioned that there was also washing up liquid and sponges available . • "Beacon Cottage was very cosy."

The kitchen had everything including plenty of dishes. The cottage was very clean. The bedrooms were small but adequate. Just beware of the low ceilings as mentioned previously by others. Netflix was a bonus on TV. We really liked the cottage overall. Barnard's Green is a lovely place. Lovely walk to Great Malvern and the Railway Station. We got the train from there to Worcester which took ten minutes. The only downside is fridge-freezer is really a must rather than a small icebox. There is plenty of room for one. As we had been in another cottage the previous week we did not want to eat out all the time. There was also the issue of a neighbours dog barking sometimes at night and everyday at 6.00am onwards. As I am a very light sleeper I had to sleep in the small single bed at the back apart from my husband. It is also on a busy road and there is traffic noise. One day it was quite nice so we sat in the lovely garden only to be disturbed by this dog barking all afternoon. Obviously this is not the owner's fault but for someone who is a light sleeper it is an issue when one is on holiday!

can the owners not convert the down stairs toilet in to a shower room, or fit a Combination shower/ tap on the upstairs bathroom. The other annoying thing is getting woken up with the dog barking at 6.15am every morning when the owner over the road lets it out, goes on for 10 to 15 mins. did not find out who it is or i would have said something. The cottage is very handy for the pub 4 mins walk and shops 10 or 15 mins walk away. We had a great time exploring the cotswolds from this area.

It is kept clean to a very high standard. It has a well appointed kitchen with a cosy dining area. The living room is comfortable and there is a wide choice of viewing options on the t.v. There is also a selection of games and dvds to choose from on a quiet night in. A useful information folder has also been provided for the property. The bathroom is a little small and would be better suited to a shower rather than a bath, but at the end of the day it is a holiday cottage and the inconvenience is minimal.

Downstairs well thought out & equipped - not so upstairs - with limited hanging space and severe height restriction in bathroom with a poor finish. needs more tiling, shelving, towel hook & heated towel rail a must. We accept head space is difficult in a cottage but future guests over 5ft 6ins in height should be warned. Similarly, the driveway issue, which really spoilt our stay. On a lesser note, the provision of small hand towels for (a)kitchen, (b) downstairs WC and (c) bathroom would be useful (and more hygienic). NB A list of items suitable for recycling would also be useful. Have tried to be constructive in our comments but If we'd known about the drive and height issues we wouldn't have booked this specific accommodation.

The property is at least as pretty as the pictures show it to be, and the owners have provided lots of maps/walking routes to plan walks / trips etc. The beds are very comfortable. Walking on the Malvern hills is great. It is a quick 10-15min walk into the centre of Great Malvern. It is a 7 mins walk to Great Malvern Station or the nearby bus stop into town. A weekly bus pass for £15 is good value as you can go anywhere in Malvern as well as hop on/off the 44 bus (four buses an hour) into the centre of town or back to the cottage from town if you are feeling tired. The Priory is beautiful and it is worth letting the volunteer guides briefly talk you through the history to bring it alive.

We did day trips to Hereford and Worcester by train as well as a pleasant boat trip to Tewksbury. Wonderful cathedrals and Abbey. Nice to call in to the Morgan pub on the way back for a pint, pity it only does lunches. Did eat at the Bluebell twice but although an easy walk and the pub did have some atmosphere, the meals were fairly ordinary. The cottage was fine although the kitchen a bit unfriendly, first cottage we've been to without even some cling wrap - especially for international travellers. If you are prepared to walk a small bit further you can venture up to the centre of Malvern for a wider choice of facilities A Kitchen facilities were excellent, living room was very comfortable with tv and Internet available if required. Bedrooms were fine.As may be expected for a small cottage headroom at the upstairs toilet and shower was a bit restricted for taller members of our group - however when put against all the positives this was a minor issue as there was a downstairs toilet which was more than adequate for our needs.

We visited the local theatre ,the Morgan factory and had snow on the tops of the Malvern Hills all adding up to a great week. The only negative points were the off road parking is more suited to a small car but road side parking outside the property was not a problem. • "What a gorgeous place!"

We had a wonderful week in Beacon Cottage in Great Malvern. The cottage was cosy, comfortable and warm. It had everything we needed for the week, in fact, I wasn't expecting it to be so well stocked so we'd taken our own loo rolls, kitchen towel, washing up sponge, and we needn't have. It's very well positioned and is only around a 10-minute walk to Great Malvern station, and around 15 to 20 minutes from the main part of town. We also found the excellent bakery just two minutes down the road, which people had mentioned in the guest book at the cottage. Yes you have to watch your head upstairs if you're on the tall side, especially in the bathroom, and yes the off-road parking space could be an issue if you have a long car - but neither posed a problem for us (you just get used to ducking, and there's plenty of parking around about if your car doesn't fit on the drive). We had such a super time, we didn't want to leave! We'll definitely try to book the cottage again for future visits to Malvern.

The Good: 1. Excellent comfortable beds 2. High quality kitchen with every amenity 3. Cosy lounge with excellent TV options (Freeview/Amazon Firestick/Apple TV) 4. Super efficient heating and hot water 5. 15 mins walk to the main shopping/restaurant area 6. Morgan pub nearby very friendly and cosy 7. Good range of local food shopping and take away foods within 500 yards 8. Ideally located to get to all walks and towns such as Worcester/Cheltenham and Hereford What you also need to know (not necessarily bad but you should be aware) 1. Its a dormer so space on one side of each of the bedrooms is compromised, position the smallest person on that side if your prone to getting up in night! 2. Shower space is very tight due to the dormer, I am 6 ft tall and my head when stood straight touched the roof when in the shower, toilet in the same bathroom you need to be aware so you don't bang your head 3. Parking is tight...You need to be good at reversing as there is pressure from the traffic that goes down the road. Take your time, if you have rear parking sensors then ideal. My car is an Audi Q3 (not a huge car) anything bigger will hang out over the path 4. The house is at the low point in terms of sea level for Great Malvern, no issue but it means that a walk up to town is all uphill and relatively steep near the top end so if you have mobility issues you should be aware.
