Very comfortable accommodation in a lovely quiet location. The most well equipped cottage that we have stayed in. Owners were friendly and helpful. We had a problem with hot tub but this was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Lovely walks locally. Hereford, Ross on Wye, Hay in Wye, Symonds Yat and Forest of Dean all worth a visit and several National Trust properties to explore.

Place clean and tidy, hot tub was a bonus. We know Phil and Sandra, so it was a pleasure to meet up again. We have now stayed at The Carthouse twice and now Owl barn as well. Lovely walks and scenery, we did nothing, except Ledbury on the fist Monday, for essentials and The Butcher`s Arms for dinner, on the last Friday.Which was excellent! All dog friendly too!! If you need to just get away from it all, this is the place to do it. A really lovely two weeks break for us.

  • "Spent a week at Owl Barn, very clean & kitchen had more than enough mugs plates etc + washing machine tablets & cleaning products."

The only downside was the double bed in the smaller room, although the bed was very comfy, good quality bed linen, there was not enough room to easily move around the bed on one side or fully open the wardrobe door. The downstairs shower was the best option out of the 2, not much umph in them. The sofas were very comfortable which makes a nice change from some of the cottages we’ve stayed at. The food at the pub was the best we’ve had in a long time & they allow dogs! Overall we had a good stay & the view from the hot tub was so relaxing plus except for 1 day the weather was good. Thank you Owl Barn.

Sorry about shower not much umph but we are on the end of the line. Property Owner

I chose this house to rent because of the hot tub, number of bedrooms, location and number of sofas. We had a lovely time, my family loved the playground, the view from the property was outstanding. We went for a lovely walk from the house and spent lots of time cooking and in the hot tub. We didn’t need to drive anywhere once we got there and that made it even nicer. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook 2 large meals for 6 people :)

I can honestly say that Owl Barn is one of the cosiest and cleanest rentals we've ever stayed in. The property is very well stocked with utensils and everything you may need. Although we didn't meet the owners, we were met with a lovely welcome packs and some everyday essentials - very appreciated. The lodge is very comfortable and homely - the pictures on Sykes really do not do it any justice at all! The kids enjoyed the playground very much. It is secluded and very peaceful. The hot tub was an ok temperature (seemed to cool as the nights went on, as a lot do) and was very spacious (comfortable for 4 people IMO). The WiFi was generally very good for us. The phone signal was dependent on where you were stood inside (EE/Vodafone). Overall we had a great stay and would recommend Owl Barn for couples and families.

  • "Just back from a lovely week in Herefordshire."

The cottage was as described and was perfect for the 7 of us that stayed (4 adults and 3 children). The bedrooms and communal areas were comfortable. We uses the hot tub, although the weather itself was warm enough and we also made use of the BBQ (suggest that you take or buy some BBQ coals to use). The kitchen is well equipped with a cooker, hob, microwave, toaster and tall fridge freezer; with good cupboard space for storing essentials. The local pub is only a 15 minute walk and we would highly recommend eating there or having the take away. The owners of the cottage kindly provided us with a menu for the local pub. The shops for essentials are about a 15 minute drive away. Only negative was that some of the kitchen utensils (including knives) had been broken, however the chipped glasses were instantly replaced when noted and Ant (who checks the hot tub levels twice daily) was very approachable for any concerns. The play area had cleaning spray for us to use once the children had finished, due to Covid guidance. I would definitely stay here again due to the quiet, but friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the cottage and its owner.
