Close by is the famous Goodrich Castle, a perfect example of a 12th century "Marcher Castle", while just 7 miles away, overlooking a large loop in the River Wye, is the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye, in the heart of rural Herefordshire. This attractive town has timbered Tudor houses clustered around the striking 17th century Market Hall, and there are excellent shops, pubs and restaurants to suit every taste. Stroll along the lovely river bank, take a river cruise or view the surrounding countryside from a hot-air balloon. Enjoy trips to Symonds Yat, Hay-on-Wye, the Black Mountains and the Forest of Dean.

A charming detached cottage, superbly located in the grounds of the owners' home, in the hamlet of Camomile Green near Lydbrook, on the edge of the Forest of Dean. This delightful Forest of Dean cottage, offering open plan studio accommodation, is ideal for a romantic retreat in a beautiful area. Offering cosy accommodation set mainly over the first floor, this Forest of Dean cottage has a well-equipped kitchen area, double wrought iron bedstead, sitting area and dining area with double doors to a Juliet balcony offering excellent views of the forest. Outside this Forest of Dean cottage is a private side patio with furniture and BBQ. Guests can also enjoy the many sitting areas in the owners' pretty cottage garden. Perfect for walkers and cyclists, this Forest of Dean cottage has many footpaths and cycle routes from the doorstep, as well as an abundance of activities on offer both in the forest and on the River Wye. A perfect Forest of Dean cottage for a relaxing break or activity holiday at any time of year.
