Just a short drive away, in the historic waterfront city of Gloucester, you will find Roman foundations, Victorian Docklands and a spectacular Norman Cathedral (whose cloisters were used as a location in the Harry Potter films). Also within easy reach are the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye, in the heart of rural Herefordshire, boasting timbered Tudor houses and excellent shops, pubs and restaurants, and The Severn Estuary, famous for its tidal bore, which is a delight for birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts and bore surfers alike. This unspoilt area has something to offer everyone at any time of the year.

Previous visitors' comments about Ivy Cottage:

The holiday was very nice. The cottage was very isolated as we had expected. The kitchen was nice and big and made it easy to prepare meals and drinks.
Mr Bennett, Wellingborough, November 2012

Fantastic position to explore the Forest of Dean and the areas surrounding. The accommodation was very spacious and the garden an enchanted area for the kids to play. Overall a fantastic base for our holiday.
Mrs Broadbent, Bristol, June 2012

The cottage was well above my expectations and the owners were very helpful. It was lovely to stay somewhere that was literally like home .
Ms Rees, Bristol, May 2012

The cottage was an excellent size to accommodate our party of 8 adults. Plenty of glassware and equipment ensured that we were never short.
