  • "We only stayed for 3 nights and had dinner out on two nights."

However, it would be useful to know what to bring as it varies from property to property. We brought kitchen roll and dishwasher tablets but they were provided, we didn't bring cooking oil but none was provided. There were very small pots of salt and pepper which were nearly exhausted. Sykes should give lists of what each property should supply so that guests do not have to transport a mobile kitchen to each property. I offer this not as a criticism of the Hop Kiln owners who were both friendly and most welcoming but to help people like us who rent several properties each year.

  • "Lovely house in a fantastic country setting."

Living area was brilliant just what we needed for 8 staying with 2 occasional day guests who ate with us. Kitchen was small but manageable - ideally could have done with an extra fridge but we did have a A LOT of food with it being Christmas (and 10 of us eating). The pictures on the site don’t do the house justice. Being on the farm with access to lots of different walks was amazing, and ‘Flop’ the dog joined us on more than one walk! The only negative were some of the mattresses could do with an upgrade. Other than that perfect and would definitely go back.

  • "We enjoyed a great week at the Hop Kiln."

We were returning to Herefordshire for a family wedding having relocated a year ago. It was wonderful to be back in such glorious countryside. The house is in such a peaceful setting and is comfortable and well equipped which led to a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The owners were friendly and helpful . I would recommend the Hop Kiln as a great base to explore a beautiful area or just to sit back and relax enjoying the rural idyll.

Friendly, helpful hosts. Some may not appreciate the farm dogs, but they are well trained and obedient and our kids loved playing with them. Highly recommend this place, as long as you have a driver. As stated in their spec it is pretty remote.

  • "This lovely converted hop kiln was absolutely wonderful."

The real bonus was the on site play park, seeing the animals with being on a working farm. My girls adored the farm dogs so friendly with the young ones. Nice enclosed garden with bbq. Kitchen is well equipped. We will definitely be back again.

A little issue was fixed immediately by the owner who was really helpful and responsive. Loved the seating area which was very spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms had good quality mattress so we all slept really well. The garden atrss as was very pleasant as well. A second set of cutlery would have been useful to bed avoid using the dishwasher half full twice a day more. Loads to explore in the area so all in all a lovely relaxing staying in a great property. Thank you.

  • "We had a very successful summer week here with extended family."

Tenbury Wells has a lovely park, playground and tennis courts and we played there every day. Nearby pubs include The Fountain and we visited their garden as often ! The owner of the Hop Kiln (Mrs Phillips) was very flexible and helpful in working with our accommodation requests.

  • "The property is absolutely lovely."

We were unfortunate in that we arrived in the middle of horrendous floods, and were trapped in the property and local area for a few days, and it was big enough that nobody went stir crazy. There are plenty of books and games to keep the kids engaged and occupy your mind. TV connection is good. The kitchen is capable of feeding a house full of people, and the cooker is good. The heating clicks and bangs a little when it starts up in the morning. The only real downside is the connectivity. Mobile phone connection is quite poor, and inside the house is only available in a few tiny locations. Outside is better. WiFi connection is very slow and intermittent. Speedtest reported the download speed at 0.2 MBPS and upload at 7 MBPS at one point. If you are travelling to get internet connectivity you might want to rethink your plans. Outside the property, there are lots of attractions to visit, and the area is positively bristling with beautiful scenery. We plan to revisit some time soon when the weather is more favourable.

It is situated in a very good area for visiting many tourist attrations.Well equipped kitchen although could have been better if a little larger. We were lucky to have a hot weekend for an easter family get together. The host was very obliging & cleaned up the BBQ for us, which we used. The patio furniture requires either replacing, or revarnishing, though. On a working farm, we experienced the added bonus of seeing a lamb born. Lovely place, Would recommend.

Spacious, well-equipped and comfortable, it was perfect for us and our guests. The Phillips family was welcoming and helpful, loaning nag me their own large pot when I wanted to make a stew and making my husband’s dream come true when he got to deliver a new baby lamb. Our experience was wonderful, exactly what we wanted, and I would recommend a stay there to anyone!

  • "Beautiful house, very well equipped."

Lovely and clean - nice welcoming owners. Plenty of space for 8 adults without getting under each others feet.Comfy sofas to lounge around on and a good sized dining table. Good sleep quality too. Very quiet outside as house on working farm. Good range of places to visit in near vicinity - which we did!! Good supply of brochures and guide books about the area provided. I would recommend the Tenbury Fish Bar - we were able to phone in an order to be collected later in the evening. Word of warning - very, very generous portions! I would very highly recommend this house for family and friends

  • "The cottage was spacious downstairs & fairly well equipped, although a hairdryer would have been useful."

We did find that the walls between us& the next door cottage were very thin & we could hear conversation on the other side. The cottage is well located amidst beautiful countryside and there is plenty to see & do, with a very useful information basket in the cottage

I am sorry that the holidaymakers in the adjoining property disturbed you, we have never had a complaint like this before in the 10 years we have been operating, obviously they were enjoying themselves a little too much. If you had come to me I would most certainly spoken to them and requested that they kept the volume down. As far as a hairdryer is concerned, we have provided them in the past, but they do disappear, and to wire them in is quite a big job - sorry. Property Owner
