Bridgnorth 8 miles; Shrewsbury 12 miles.

This delightful 700-year old market town lies on the north east end of the famous Wenlock Edge, in the heart of the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Considered the birthplace of the modern Olympic Games, the town is filled with a patchwork of twisting streets, black and white half timbered buildings, limestone cottages, speciality shops, quality pubs and restaurants. Stroll round the remains of the magnificent 12th century priory, 16th century Guildhall, the interesting Norman church and the Old Gaol House. Above the town rises the 15 mile long Wenlock Edge, boasting glorious views and excellent walking, cycling, and riding. Nearby are the wonderful medieval towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Ludlow, the World Heritage Centre of Ironbridge with nine museums and Blists Hill Victorian Village, plus the amazing Wroxeter Roman City and Stokesay Castle.

Previous visitors' comments about Cowslip Cottage:

A real home from home.
Mrs Bailey, Olney, March 2013

The cottage was quiet and peaceful in a very nice part of the country and very well situated for us to travel to the various tourist locations that we wanted to visit.
Mrs Steel, Ivybridge, October 2012

The friendliness and helpfulness of the owner, nothing was too much trouble. It was lovely to be on a working farm.
Mr Bunce, Fareham, September 2012

We found the cottage to be warm, clean and comfortable and would not hesitate to return. Sometimes, particularly when you are elderly, reassurance and positiveness are more important than aesthetics. The owners of Cowslip could have not been more accommodating to us and this made the couple of days we did manage to stay there even more special. Owners like these are a rare breed!
Mrs Jackson, Milford Haven, September 2012
