Kingston Lisle lies in the lea of Blowing Stone Hill and the edge of the beautiful, unspoilt, rolling Lambourn downs, over which the 'pre-roman' Ridgeway path runs, just one and a half miles from Uffington, home of the famous White Horse. The village has a pub with restaurant, and further amenities can be found in the market town of Wantage, a saxon town boasting numerous 17th and 18th century buildings, cobbled streets, pubs, shops and restaurants, and also the birthplace of King Alfred. Kingston Lisle is close to the Cotswolds and the historic towns of Burford, Lechlade and Cirencester. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Craig Cahoon Waterski School are just some of the attractions within easy driving distance, while golfers have an excellent choice of local courses. The antiques centre of Hungerford is also within striking distance. Both the pre-historic stone circles of Avebury and Stonehenge are less than an hour’s drive away. National Trust Houses such as Buscot House, Kelmscott Manor and The Faringdon Folly are close by, and Blenheim Palace and Oxford are only 30 minutes away. For those interested in horses there are 2 local riding schools and 2000 race horses in the nearby training centre of Lambourn (Valley of the Horses) and opportunities to visit stables and see the horses gallop can be arranged if convenient. This area is a 'must visit' for all countryside lovers with delightful villages, historic market towns and beautiful countryside.

The location and the tranquility. Although the owners lived right next door we never felt we were being watched. They were lovely people, very accommodating, with regards to the use of the pool and the loan of their sons goal for our family to use. The village pub was friendly with a good lunch time and evening menu.
