The thriving village of Wroxton is situated in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside just three miles north west of Banbury. The ancient village boasts a village green and pond, home to an abundance of wildlife, with its own thatched duck house, many thatched cottages, two charming village pubs and a farm shop. Wroxton Abbey is a beautiful 15th century manor house set in landscaped gardens and is located in the centre of this unspoilt village. The nearby historic market town of Banbury sits on the banks of the River Cherwell in the Cherwell Valley, and dates back to the Iron Age and offers an abundance of amenities including restaurants, cafes, a canalside museum, many individual shops, cinema and local theatre. Visitors can enjoy narrowboat rides on the Oxford canal, many lovely walks and cycle routes, horse riding, golf, as well as the annual Banbury Folk Festival. Blenheim Palace, the ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill, and the beautiful village of Woodstock are just a short drive away from Wroxton, while the university city of Oxford, home to the oldest university in England and known as 'The City of Dreaming Spires', is well worth a visit. Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of Sir William Shakespeare, Warwick with its magnificent castle and Royal Leamington Spa are all within an hour’s drive. A great holiday destination at any time of year.

This charming Oxfordshire cottage offers three light and airy first floor bedrooms, a well-equipped fitted kitchen with range cooker and a sitting room with a dining area, a small open fire and a door to the rear garden – a wonderful place to cosy up together by the glow of the fire, after a busy day exploring. Outside this Oxfordshire cottage are a patio and gravelled courtyard area, steps up to a lawned garden with elevated timber decked area and summerhouse with garden furniture - a perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area. A short stroll from your Wroxton cottage takes you to the 15th century Wroxton Abbey where you can enjoy the landscaped gardens and lakes. A little further afield are the market town of Banbury, the ancient town of Woodstock, Blenheim Palace - ancestral home of the Churchill family - and 'The City of Dreaming Spires', Oxford. This is a wonderful Wroxton cottage at any time of year.

Best cottage we have stayed in. So comfortable and attractive. Real fire with a Victorian fireplace which we loved. Beautifully furnished, welcome basket and the games room were great. The kitchen was so well laid out, a joy to use. Someone had really thought this all through with a view to pleasing their visitors!
