The pretty village of Stottesdon lies amidst the wonderful Shropshire countryside between the lovely historic towns of Bridgnorth and Ludlow. The village offers a small shop and a pub, and many scenic walks, cycle trails and bridleways to explore, whilst Chelmarsh Reservoir, 5 miles away, is ideal for fishing and sailing. The lovely town of Bridgnorth, 10 miles from Stottesdon, lies in two distinct halves, separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are also connected by winding streets, flights of steps and, for the weary traveller, the funicular railway. The town also offers a bustling Saturday street market and relaxing strolls along the winding River Severn. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, National Trust houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to the exciting Severn Valley Railway, the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge with its 10 museums and striking landscape. The nearby medieval town of Ludlow has more than 500 listed buildings and its medieval street pattern remains almost intact and provides a fascinating backdrop for the town’s regular street markets, held in the shadow of the castle and showcasing a range of goods - from cheeses and fresh produce to books and local crafts. Shrewsbury, picturesque Church Stretton and Much Wenlock are also all within easy reach of this delightful area.

Mr Knights, Chelmsford, July 2011
Nice cottage and lovely garden. Well located for Bridgnorth, Ironbridge and Ludlow explorations. Very quiet location down winding country lanes (make sure you have GPS or large scale map!). Only the occasional sounds of cows and wood pigeon to be heard, plus the odd squirrel jumping around the trees.
Mr Gale, Brixham, August 2010
This cottage was very well kept and most comfortable, would recommend very highly. The owners where close by the cottage, but left us to have a great holiday. Would recommend a visit to Long Mynd, a wonderful place, also Bridgenorth, a charming town with every thing you need for a truly great holiday. We will use the cottage again, great place.
